The Convergence of a Direct BEM for the Plane Mixed Boundary Value Problem of the Laplacian.
The author investigates time-periodic solutions of the quasilinear beam equation with the help of accelerated convergence methods. Using the Newton iteration scheme, the problem is approximated by a sequence of linear equations solved via the Galerkin method. The derivatiove loss inherent to this kind of problems is compensated by taking advantage of smoothing operators.
The method of transfer of boundary conditions yields a universal frame into which most methods for solving boundary value problems for ordinary differential equations can be included. The purpose of this paper is to show a possibility to extend the idea of transfer of conditions to a particular twodimensional problem.
