On the coronal heating mechanism by the resonant absorption of Alfvén waves.
The solvability of three linear initial-boundary value problems for the system of equations obtained by linearization of MHD equations is established. The equations contain terms corresponding to Hall and ion-slip currents. The solutions are found in the Sobolev spaces with and in anisotropic Holder spaces.
This paper is devoted to the study of the weak-strong uniqueness property for full compressible magnetohydrodynamics flows. The governing equations for magnetohydrodynamic flows are expressed by the full Navier-Stokes system for compressible fluids enhanced by forces due to the presence of the magnetic field as well as the gravity and an additional equation which describes the evolution of the magnetic field. Using the relative entropy inequality, we prove that a weak solution coincides with the...
We study the 2D magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) equations for a viscous incompressible resistive fluid, a system with the Navier-Stokes equations for the velocity field coupled with a convection-diffusion equation for the magnetic fields, in an arbitrary (bounded or unbounded) domain satisfying the Poincaré inequality with a large class of non-autonomous external forces. The existence of a weak solution to the problem is proved by using the Galerkin method. We then show the existence of a unique minimal...
