Some weighted norm inequalities for a one-sided version of g * λ

L. de Rosa, C. Segovia (2006)

Studia Mathematica

We study the boundedness of the one-sided operator g λ , φ between the weighted spaces L p ( M ¯ w ) and L p ( w ) for every weight w. If λ = 2/p whenever 1 < p < 2, and in the case p = 1 for λ > 2, we prove the weak type of g λ , φ . For every λ > 1 and p = 2, or λ > 2/p and 1 < p < 2, the boundedness of this operator is obtained. For p > 2 and λ > 1, we obtain the boundedness of g λ , φ from L p ( ( M ¯ ) [ p / 2 ] + 1 w ) to L p ( w ) , where ( M ¯ ) k denotes the operator M¯ iterated k times.

The interesting purpose is to extend some recent results of Attouch, Moudafi and Riahi on the graph-convergence of maximal monotone...

Sommes de carrés de fonctions dérivables

Jean-Michel Bony (2005)

Space of Baire functions. I

J. E. Jayne (1974)

Annales de l'institut Fourier

Several equivalent conditions are given for the existence of real-valued Baire functions of all classes on a type of K -analytic spaces, called disjoint analytic spaces, and on all pseudocompact spaces. The sequential stability index for the Banach space of bounded continuous real-valued functions on these spaces is shown to be either 0 , 1 , or Ω (the first uncountable ordinal). In contrast, the space of bounded real-valued Baire functions of class 1 is shown to contain closed linear subspaces with index...

Spaces defined by the level function and their duals

Gord Sinnamon (1994)

Studia Mathematica

The classical level function construction of Halperin and Lorentz is extended to Lebesgue spaces with general measures. The construction is also carried farther. In particular, the level function is considered as a monotone map on its natural domain, a superspace of L p . These domains are shown to be Banach spaces which, although closely tied to L p spaces, are not reflexive. A related construction is given which characterizes their dual spaces.

Spaces of sequences, sampling theorem, and functions of exponential type

Rodolfo Torres (1991)

Studia Mathematica

We introduce certain spaces of sequences which can be used to characterize spaces of functions of exponential type. We present a generalized version of the sampling theorem and a "nonorthogonal wavelet decomposition" for the elements of these spaces of sequences. In particular, we obtain a discrete version of the so-called φ-transform studied in [6] [8]. We also show how these new spaces and the corresponding decompositions can be used to study multiplier operators on Besov spaces.

Spectral synthesis and the Pompeiu problem

L. Brown, B. Schreiber, B. A. Taylor (1973)

Annales de l'institut Fourier

It is shown that every closed rotation and translation invariant subspace V of C ( R n ) or δ ( R n ) , n 2 , is of spectral synthesis, i.e. V is spanned by the polynomial-exponential functions it contains. It is a classical problem to find those measures μ of compact support on R 2 with the following property: (P) The only function f C ( R 2 ) satisfying R 2 f σ d μ = 0 for all rigid motions σ of R 2 is the zero function. As an application of the above result a characterization of such measures is obtained in terms of their Fourier-Laplace transforms....
