Some results on the non-commutative neutrix product of distributions and .
Let and be distributions in and let be an infinitely differentiable function with , (or ). It is proved that if the neutrix product exists and equals , then the neutrix product exists and equals .
Different types of seminorms on a quasi *-algebra (𝔄,𝔄₀) are constructed from a suitable family ℱ of sesquilinear forms on 𝔄. Two particular classes, extended C*-seminorms and CQ*-seminorms, are studied in some detail. A necessary and sufficient condition for the admissibility of a sesquilinear form in terms of extended C*-seminorms on (𝔄,𝔄₀) is given.
In this paper we introduce a new concept of -strong convergence with respect to an Orlicz function and examine some properties of the resulting sequence spaces. It is also shown that if a sequence is -strongly convergent with respect to an Orlicz function then it is -statistically convergent.
This paper gives some very elementary proofs of results of Aupetit, Ransford and others on the variation of the spectral radius of a holomorphic family of elements in a Banach algebra. There is also some brief discussion of a notorious unsolved problem in automatic continuity theory.
We show that the classes of separable reflexive Banach spaces and of spaces with separable dual are strongly bounded. This gives a new proof of a recent result of E. Odell and Th. Schlumprecht, asserting that there exists a separable reflexive Banach space containing isomorphic copies of every separable uniformly convex Banach space.
We discuss k-rotundity, weak k-rotundity, C-k-rotundity, weak C-k-rotundity, k-nearly uniform convexity, k-β property, C-I property, C-II property, C-III property and nearly uniform convexity both pointwise and global in Orlicz function spaces equipped with Luxemburg norm. Applications to continuity for the metric projection at a given point are given in Orlicz function spaces with Luxemburg norm.
