On the unique constructive solvability of Hammerstein equations.
A nonlocal model of phase separation in multicomponent systems is presented. It is derived from conservation principles and minimization of free energy containing a nonlocal part due to particle interaction. In contrast to the classical Cahn-Hilliard theory with higher order terms this leads to an evolution system of second order parabolic equations for the particle densities, coupled by nonlinear and nonlocal drift terms, and state equations which involve both chemical and interaction potential...
Let be a locally compact abelian group and let 1 < p ≤ 2. ’ is the dual group of , and p’ the conjugate exponent of p. An operator T between Banach spaces X and Y is said to be compatible with the Fourier transform if admits a continuous extension . Let denote the collection of such T’s. We show that for any and positive integer n. Moreover, if the factor group of by its identity component is a direct sum of a torsion-free group and a finite group with discrete topology then .
We prove that a set of weak solutions of the nonlinear Volterra integral equation has the Kneser property. The main condition in our result is formulated in terms of axiomatic measures of weak noncompactness.
We investigate the weak amenability of the Banach algebra ℬ(X) of all bounded linear operators on a Banach space X. Sufficient conditions are given for weak amenability of this and other Banach operator algebras with bounded one-sided approximate identities.
We study a new class of bounded linear operators which strictly contains the class of bounded linear operators with the decomposition property (δ) or the weak spectral decomposition property (weak-SDP). We treat general local spectral properties for operators in this class and compare them with the case of operators with (δ).
The aim of this paper is to introduce the concept of a new nonlinear multi-valued mapping so called weakly (α, ψ, ξ)-contractive mapping and prove fixed point results for such mappings in metric spaces. Our results unify, generalize and complement various results from the literature. We give some examples which support our main results while previous results in literature are not applicable. Also, we analyze the existence of fixed points for mappings satisfying a general contractive inequality of...
We present a proof of the weighted estimate of the Bergman projection that does not use extrapolation results. This estimate is extended to product domains using an adapted definition of Békollé-Bonami weights in this setting. An application to bounded Toeplitz products is also given.
We propose a theoretical framework for solving a class of worst scenario problems. The existence of the worst scenario is proved through the convergence of a sequence of approximate worst scenarios. The main convergence theorem modifies and corrects the relevant results already published in literature. The theoretical framework is applied to a particular problem with an uncertain boundary value problem for a nonlinear ordinary differential equation with an uncertain coefficient.
We apply a theoretical framework for solving a class of worst scenario problems to a problem with a nonlinear partial differential equation. In contrast to the one-dimensional problem investigated by P. Harasim in Appl. Math. 53 (2008), No. 6, 583–598, the two-dimensional problem requires stronger assumptions restricting the admissible set to ensure the monotonicity of the nonlinear operator in the examined state problem, and, as a result, to show the existence and uniqueness of the state solution....
The Yosida approximation is treated as an inversion formula for the Laplace transform.
In the present paper we prove the “zero-two” law for positive contractions in the Banach-Kantorovich lattices , constructed by a measure with values in the ring of all measurable functions.
