In questo lavoro vengono costruite famiglie di 3-folds algebriche e non singolari X di tipo generale tali che l'invariante K X 3 sia il minimo possibile rispetto al genere geometrico p g , quando si suppone che il morfismo canonico sia birazionale. Per tali 3-folds vale la relazione lineare K X 3 = 4 p g - 14 inoltre l'immagine del morfismo canonico é una varietà di Castelnuovo di P p g - 1 .

The goal of this paper is to show that there are strong relations between certain Monge-Ampère integrals appearing in holomorphic Morse inequalities, and asymptotic cohomology estimates for tensor powers of holomorphic line bundles. Especially, we prove that these relations hold without restriction for projective surfaces, and in the special case of the volume, i.e. of asymptotic 0 -cohomology, for all projective manifolds. A descent map for curves with totally degenerate semi-stable reduction

Let K be a local field of residue characteristic p . Let C be a curve over K whose minimal proper regular model has totally degenerate semi-stable reduction. Under certain hypotheses, we compute the prime-to- p rational torsion subgroup on the Jacobian of C . We also determine divisibility of line bundles on C , including rationality of theta characteristics and higher spin structures. These computations utilize arithmetic on the special fiber of C .

A note on a theorem of Horikawa.

In this paper we classify the algebraic surfaces on C with KS2=4, pg=3 and canonical map of degree d=3. By our result and the previous one of Horikawa (1979) we obtain the complete determination of surfaces with K2=4 and pg=3.
