A Boundary Element Method for a Two-Dimensional Interface Problem in Electromagnetics.
In several practically interesting applications of electromagnetic scattering theory like, e.g., scattering from small point-like objects such as buried artifacts or small inclusions in non-destructive testing, scattering from thin curve-like objects such as wires or tubes, or scattering from thin sheet-like objects such as cracks, the volume of the scatterers is small relative to the volume of the surrounding medium and with respect to the wave length of the applied electromagnetic fields. This...

The aim of this contribution is to present a new result concerning asymptotic expansion of solutions of the heat equation with periodic Dirichlet–Neuman boundary conditions with the period going to zero in D.
A mathematical analysis of poroacoustic traveling wave phenomena is presented. Assuming that the fluid phase satisfies the perfect gas law and that the drag offered by the porous matrix is described by Darcy's law, exact traveling wave solutions (TWS)s, as well as asymptotic/approximate expressions, are derived and examined. In particular, stability issues are addressed, shock and acceleration waves are shown to arise, and special/limiting cases are noted. Lastly, connections to other fields are...
We study the condition on expanding an analytic several variables function in terms of products of the homogeneous generalized Al-Salam-Carlitz polynomials. As applications, we deduce bilinear generating functions for the homogeneous generalized Al-Salam-Carlitz polynomials. We also gain multilinear generating functions for the homogeneous generalized Al-Salam-Carlitz polynomials. Moreover, we obtain generalizations of Andrews-Askey integrals and Ramanujan -beta integrals. At last, we derive ...
It is easily seen that the graphs of harmonic conjugate functions (the real and imaginary parts of a holomorphic function) have the same nonpositive Gaussian curvature. The converse to this statement is not as simple. Given two graphs with the same nonpositive Gaussian curvature, when can we conclude that the functions generating their graphs are harmonic? In this paper, we show that given a graph with radially symmetric nonpositive Gaussian curvature in a certain form, there are (up to) four families...
