On a Berry-Esseen type bound for the maximum likelihood estimator of a parameter for some stochastic partial differential equations.
A kernel estimator of the squared -norm of the intensity function of a Poisson random field is defined. It is proved that the estimator is asymptotically unbiased and strongly consistent. The problem of estimating the squared -norm of a function disturbed by a Wiener random field is also considered.
If conditional independence constraints define a family of positive distributions that is log-convex then this family turns out to be a Markov model over an undirected graph. This is proved for the distributions on products of finite sets and for the regular Gaussian ones. As a consequence, the assertion known as Brook factorization theorem, Hammersley–Clifford theorem or Gibbs–Markov equivalence is obtained.
The asymptotic Rényi distances are explicitly defined and rigorously studied for a convenient class of Gibbs random fields, which are introduced as a natural infinite-dimensional generalization of exponential distributions.
The paper concerns estimation of anisotropy of planar fibre systems using the relation between the rose of directions and the rose of intersections. The discussion about the properties of the Steiner compact estimator is based on both theoretical and simulation results. The approach based on the distribution of the Prokhorov distance between the estimated and true rose of directions is developed. Finally the curved test systems are investigated in both Fourier and Steiner compact analysis of anisotropy....
We give a review on the properties and applications of M-estimators with redescending score function. For regression analysis, some of these redescending M-estimators can attain the maximum breakdown point which is possible in this setup. Moreover, some of them are the solutions of the problem of maximizing the efficiency under bounded influence function when the regression coefficient and the scale parameter are estimated simultaneously. Hence redescending M-estimators satisfy several outlier robustness...
We consider a stationary symmetric stable bidimensional process with discrete time, having the spectral representation (1.1). We consider a general case where the spectral measure is assumed to be the sum of an absolutely continuous measure, a discrete measure of finite order and a finite number of absolutely continuous measures on several lines. We estimate the density of the absolutely continuous measure and the density on the lines.
The estimation of probabilistic deformable template models in computer vision or of probabilistic atlases in Computational Anatomy are core issues in both fields. A first coherent statistical framework where the geometrical variability is modelled as a hidden random variable has been given by [S. Allassonnière et al., J. Roy. Stat. Soc.69 (2007) 3–29]. They introduce a Bayesian approach and mixture of them to estimate deformable template models. A consistent stochastic algorithm has been introduced...
