On k-radicals of Green's relations in semirings with a semilattice additive reduct

Tapas Kumar Mondal, Anjan Kumar Bhuniya (2013)

Discussiones Mathematicae - General Algebra and Applications

We introduce the k-radicals of Green's relations in semirings with a semilattice additive reduct, introduce the notion of left k-regular (right k-regular) semirings and characterize these semirings by k-radicals of Green's relations. We also characterize the semirings which are distributive lattices of left k-simple subsemirings by k-radicals of Green's relations.

On lifting of idempotents and semiregular endomorphism rings

Tsiu-Kwen Lee, Yiqiang Zhou (2011)

Colloquium Mathematicae

Starting with some observations on (strong) lifting of idempotents, we characterize a module whose endomorphism ring is semiregular with respect to the ideal of endomorphisms with small image. This is the dual of Yamagata's work [Colloq. Math. 113 (2008)] on a module whose endomorphism ring is semiregular with respect to the ideal of endomorphisms with large kernel.

On modules and rings with the restricted minimum condition

M. Tamer Koşan, Jan Žemlička (2015)

Colloquium Mathematicae

A module M satisfies the restricted minimum condition if M/N is artinian for every essential submodule N of M. A ring R is called a right RM-ring whenever R R satisfies the restricted minimum condition as a right module. We give several structural necessary conditions for particular classes of RM-rings. Furthermore, a commutative ring R is proved to be an RM-ring if and only if R/Soc(R) is noetherian and every singular module is semiartinian.

On p -injectivity, YJ-injectivity and quasi-Frobeniusean rings

Roger Yue Chi Ming (2002)

Commentationes Mathematicae Universitatis Carolinae

A new characteristic property of von Neumann regular rings is proposed in terms of annihilators of elements. An ELT fully idempotent ring is a regular ring whose simple left (or right) modules are either injective or projective. Artinian rings are characterized in terms of Noetherian rings. Strongly regular rings and rings whose two-sided ideals are generated by central idempotents are characterized in terms of special annihilators. Quasi-Frobeniusean rings are characterized in terms of p -injectivity....

On regular endomorphism rings of topological Abelian groups

Horea Florian Abrudan (2011)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

We extend a result of Rangaswamy about regularity of endomorphism rings of Abelian groups to arbitrary topological Abelian groups. Regularity of discrete quasi-injective modules over compact rings modulo radical is proved. A characterization of torsion LCA groups A for which End c ( A ) is regular is given.

On rings close to regular and p -injectivity

Roger Yue Chi Ming (2006)

Commentationes Mathematicae Universitatis Carolinae

The following results are proved for a ring A : (1) If A is a fully right idempotent ring having a classical left quotient ring Q which is right quasi-duo, then Q is a strongly regular ring; (2) A has a classical left quotient ring Q which is a finite direct sum of division rings iff A is a left TC -ring having a reduced maximal right ideal and satisfying the maximum condition on left annihilators; (3) Let A have the following properties: (a) each maximal left ideal of A is either a two-sided ideal...

On rings with a unique proper essential right ideal

O. A. S. Karamzadeh, M. Motamedi, S. M. Shahrtash (2004)

Fundamenta Mathematicae

Right ue-rings (rings with the property of the title, i.e., with the maximality of the right socle) are investigated. It is shown that a semiprime ring R is a right ue-ring if and only if R is a regular V-ring with the socle being a maximal right ideal, and if and only if the intrinsic topology of R is non-discrete Hausdorff and dense proper right ideals are semisimple. It is proved that if R is a right self-injective right ue-ring (local right ue-ring), then R is never semiprime and is Artin semisimple...
