The local integration of Leibniz algebras

Simon Covez (2013)

Annales de l’institut Fourier

This article gives a local answer to the coquecigrue problem for Leibniz algebras, that is, the problem of finding a generalization of the (Lie) group structure such that Leibniz algebras are the corresponding tangent algebra structure. Using links between Leibniz algebra cohomology and Lie rack cohomology, we generalize the integration of a Lie algebra into a Lie group by proving that every Leibniz algebra is isomorphic to the tangent Leibniz algebra of a local Lie rack. This article ends with...

The Magic Square and symmetric Compositions.

Alberto Elduque (2004)

Revista Matemática Iberoamericana

The new construction given by Barton and Sudbery of the Freudenthal-Tits magic square, which includes the exceptional classical simple Lie algebras, will be interpreted and extended by using a pair of symmetric composition algebras, instead of the standard unital composition algebras.

The Nekrasov-Okounkov hook length formula: refinement, elementary proof, extension and applications

Guo-Niu Han (2010)

Annales de l’institut Fourier

The paper is devoted to the derivation of the expansion formula for the powers of the Euler Product in terms of partition hook lengths, discovered by Nekrasov and Okounkov in their study of the Seiberg-Witten Theory. We provide a refinement based on a new property of t -cores, and give an elementary proof by using the Macdonald identities. We also obtain an extension by adding two more parameters, which appears to be a discrete interpolation between the Macdonald identities and the generating function...
