λ-Properties of Orlicz sequence spaces

Shutao Chen, Huiying Sun (1994)

Annales Polonici Mathematici

It is proved that every Orlicz sequence space has the λ-property. Criteria for the uniform λ-property in Orlicz sequence spaces, with Luxemburg norm and Orlicz norm, are given.

ρ-Orthogonality and its preservation - revisited

Jacek Chmieliński, Paweł Wójcik (2013)

Banach Center Publications

The aim of the paper is to present results concerning the ρ-orthogonality and its preservation (both accurate and approximate) by linear operators. We survey on the results presented in [11] and [23], as well as give some new and more general ones.

Σ -convergence of nonlinear monotone operators in perforated domains with holes of small size

Jean Louis Woukeng (2009)

Applications of Mathematics

This paper is devoted to the homogenization beyond the periodic setting, of nonlinear monotone operators in a domain in N with isolated holes of size ε 2 ( ε > 0 a small parameter). The order of the size of the holes is twice that of the oscillations of the coefficients of the operator, so that the problem under consideration is a reiterated homogenization problem in perforated domains. The usual periodic perforation of the domain and the classical periodicity hypothesis on the coefficients of the operator...

σ-fragmented Banach spaces II

J. Jayne, I. Namioka, C. Rogers (1994)

Studia Mathematica

Recent papers have investigated the properties of σ-fragmented Banach spaces and have sought to find which Banach spaces are σ-fragmented and which are not. Banach spaces that have a norming M-basis are shown to be σ-fragmented using weakly closed sets. Zizler has shown that Banach spaces satisfying certain conditions have locally uniformly convex norms. Banach spaces that satisfy similar, but weaker conditions are shown to be σ-fragmented. An example, due to R. Pol, is given of a Banach space that...

ϕ -multipliers on a class of topological algebras

Ali Naziri-Kordkandi (2022)

Mathematica Bohemica

In this paper, we generalize the concept of ϕ -multipliers on Banach algebras to a class of topological algebras. Then the characterizations of ϕ -multipliers are investigated in these algebras.

ω –weighted holomorphic Besov spaces on the unit ball in C n

A. V. Harutyunyan, Wolfgang Lusky (2011)

Commentationes Mathematicae Universitatis Carolinae

The ω -weighted Besov spaces of holomorphic functions on the unit ball B n in C n are introduced as follows. Given a function ω of regular variation and 0 < p < , a function f holomorphic in B n is said to belong to the Besov space B p ( ω ) if f B p ( ω ) p = B n ( 1 - | z | 2 ) p | D f ( z ) | p ω ( 1 - | z | ) ( 1 - | z | 2 ) n + 1 d ν ( z ) < + , where d ν ( z ) is the volume measure on B n and D stands for the fractional derivative of f . The holomorphic Besov space is described in the terms of the corresponding L p ( ω ) space. Some projection theorems and theorems on existence of the inversions of these projections are proved. Also,...
