Continuous selections, G δ -subsets of Banach spaces and usco mappings

Every l.s.cṁapping from a paracompact space into the non-empty, closed, convex subsets of a (not necessarily convex) G δ -subset of a Banach space admits a single-valued continuous selection provided every such mapping admits a convex-valued usco selection. This leads us to some new partial solutions of a problem raised by E. Michael.

Continuous Selections in α-Convex Metric Spaces

The existence of continuous selections is proved for a class of lower semicontinuous multifunctions whose values are closed convex subsets of a complete metric space equipped with an appropriate notion of convexity. The approach is based on the notion of pseudo-barycenter of an ordered n-tuple of points.

In this paper we consider the Darboux type properties for the paratingent. We review some of the standard facts on the multivalued functions and the paratingent. We prove that the paratingent has always the Darboux property but the property D* holds only when the paratingent is a multivalued function.

Equilibria and strict equilibria of multivalued maps on noninvariant sets

This paper is concerned with existence of equilibrium of a set-valued map in a given compact subset of a finite-dimensional space. Previously known conditions ensuring existence of equilibrium imply that the set is either invariant or viable for the differential inclusion generated by the set-valued map. We obtain some equilibrium existence results with conditions which imply neither invariance nor viability of the given set. The problem of existence of strict equilibria is also discussed.

We survey results related to the problem of the existence of equilibria in some classes of infinitely repeated two-person games of incomplete information on one side, first considered by Aumann, Maschler and Stearns. We generalize this setting to a broader one of principal-agent problems. We also discuss topological results needed, presenting them dually (using cohomology in place of homology) and more systematically than in our earlier papers.
