Geometric structures of stable output feedback systems

Zhenning Zhang, Huafei Sun, Fengwei Zhong (2009)

Kybernetika

In this paper, we investigate the geometric structures of the stable time-varying and the stable static output feedback systems. Firstly, we give a parametrization of stabilizing time-varying output feedback gains subject to certain constraints, that is, the subset of stabilizing time-varying output feedback gains is diffeomorphic to the Cartesian product of the set of time-varying positive definite matrices and the set of time-varying skew symmetric matrices satisfying certain algebraic conditions....

Global asymptotic stabilisation of an active mass damper for a flexible beam

Laura Menini, Antonio Tornambè, Luca Zaccarian (1999)

Kybernetika

In this paper, a finite dimensional approximated model of a mechanical system constituted by a vertical heavy flexible beam with lumped masses placed along the beam and a mobile mass located at the tip, is proposed; such a model is parametric in the approximation order, so that a prescribed accuracy in the representation of the actual system can be easily obtained with the proposed model. The system itself can be understood as a simple representation of a building subject to transverse vibrations,...

Global controllability and stabilization for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation on an interval

Camille Laurent (2010)

ESAIM: Control, Optimisation and Calculus of Variations

We prove global internal controllability in large time for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation on a bounded interval with periodic, Dirichlet or Neumann conditions. Our strategy combines stabilization and local controllability near 0. We use Bourgain spaces to prove this result on L2. We also get a regularity result about the control if the data are assumed smoother.

Global output feedback stabilization for nonlinear fractional order time delay systems

Hanen Benali (2021)

Kybernetika

This paper investigates the problem of global stabilization by state and output-feedback for a family of for nonlinear Riemann-Liouville and Caputo fractional order time delay systems written in triangular form satisfying linear growth conditions. By constructing a appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, global asymptotic stability of the closed-loop systems is achieved. Moreover, sufficient conditions for the stability, for the particular class of fractional order time-delay system are obtained....

H control of discrete-time linear systems constrained in state by equality constraints

Dušan Krokavec (2012)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

In this paper, stabilizing problems in control design are addressed for linear discrete-time systems, reflecting equality constraints tying together some state variables. Based on an enhanced representation of the bounded real lemma for discretetime systems, the existence of a state feedback control for such conditioned stabilization is proven, and an LMI-based design procedure is provided. The control law gain computation method used circumvents generally an ill-conditioned singular design task....

H sliding mode control for Markov jump systems with interval time-varying delays and general transition probabilities

Lingchun Li, Guangming Zhang, Meiying Ou, Yujie Wang (2019)

Kybernetika

This paper is devoted to design H sliding mode controller for continuous-time Markov jump systems with interval time-varying delays and general transition probabilities. An integral sliding surface is constructed and its reachability is guaranteed via a sliding mode control law. Meanwhile, a linearisation strategy is applied to treat the nonlinearity induced by general transition probabilities. Using a separation method based on Finsler lemma to eliminate the coupling among Lyapunov variables and...

Hybrid stabilization of discrete-time LTI systems with two quantized signals

Guisheng Zhai, Yuuki Matsumoto, Xinkai Chen, Joe Imae, Tomoaki Kobayashi (2005)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

We consider stabilizing a discrete-time LTI (linear time-invariant) system via state feedback where both the quantized state and control input signals are involved. The system under consideration is stabilizable and stabilizing state feedback has been designed without considering quantization, but the system's stability is not guaranteed due to the quantization effect. For this reason, we propose a hybrid quantized state feedback strategy asymptotically stabilizing the system, where the values of...

Improving the performance of semiglobal output controllers for nonlinear systems

Abdallah Benabdallah, Walid Hdidi (2017)

Kybernetika

For a large class of nonlinear control systems, the main drawback of a semiglobal stabilizing output feedback controllers ( 𝒰 R ) R > 0 with increasing regions of attraction ( Ω R ) R > 0 is that, when the region of attraction Ω R is large, the convergence of solutions of the closed-loop system to the origin becomes slow. To improve the performance of a semiglobal controller, we look for a new feedback control law that preserves the semiglobal stability of the nonlinear system under consideration and that is equal to some...

Input to state stability properties of nonlinear systems and applications to bounded feedback stabilization using saturation

J. Tsinias (2010)

ESAIM: Control, Optimisation and Calculus of Variations

The concepts of stability, attractivity and asymptotic stability for systems subject to restrictions of the input values are introduced and analyzed in terms of Lyapunov functions. A comparison with the well known input-to-state stability property introduced by Sontag is provided. We use these concepts in order to derive sufficient conditions for global stabilization for triangular and feedforward systems by means of saturated bounded feedback controllers and also recover some recent results...

L2 performance induced by feedbacks with multiple saturations

Andrew R. Teel (2010)

ESAIM: Control, Optimisation and Calculus of Variations

Multi-level saturation feedbacks induce nonlinear disturbance-to-state L2 stability for nonlinear systems in feedforward form. This class of systems includes linear systems with actuator constraints.

Local asymptotic stability for nonlinear state feedback delay systems

Alfredo Germani, Costanzo Manes, Pierdomenico Pepe (2000)

Kybernetika

This paper considers the problem of output control of nonlinear delay systems by means of state delayed feedback. In previous papers, through the use of a suitable formalism, standard output control problems, such as output regulation, trajectory tracking, disturbance decoupling and model matching, have been solved for a class of nonlinear delay systems. However, in general an output control scheme does not guarantee internal stability of the system. Some results on this issue are presented in this...
