Commentationes Mathematicae Universitatis Carolinae

Similarity:

We study the structure of Lipschitz algebras under the notions of approximate biflatness and Johnson pseudo-contractibility. We show that for a compact metric space X , the Lipschitz algebras Lip α ( X ) and lip α ( X ) are approximately biflat if and only if X is finite, provided that 0 < α < 1 . We give a necessary and sufficient condition that a vector-valued Lipschitz algebras is Johnson pseudo-contractible. We also show that some triangular Banach algebras are not approximately biflat.

Three dimensional near-horizon metrics that are Einstein-Weyl

Matthew Randall (2017)

Archivum Mathematicum

Similarity:

We investigate which three dimensional near-horizon metrics g N H admit a compatible 1-form X such that ( X , [ g N H ] ) defines an Einstein-Weyl structure. We find explicit examples and see that some of the solutions give rise to Einstein-Weyl structures of dispersionless KP type and dispersionless Hirota (aka hyperCR) type.

On generalized property (v) for bounded linear operators

Studia Mathematica

Similarity:

An operator T acting on a Banach space X has property (gw) if σ a ( T ) σ S B F ¯ ( T ) = E ( T ) , where σ a ( T ) is the approximate point spectrum of T, σ S B F ¯ ( T ) is the upper semi-B-Weyl spectrum of T and E(T) is the set of all isolated eigenvalues of T. We introduce and study two new spectral properties (v) and (gv) in connection with Weyl type theorems. Among other results, we show that T satisfies (gv) if and only if T satisfies (gw) and σ ( T ) = σ a ( T ) .

Drinfeld doubles via derived Hall algebras and Bridgeland's Hall algebras

Fan Xu, Haicheng Zhang (2021)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

Similarity:

Let 𝒜 be a finitary hereditary abelian category. We give a Hall algebra presentation of Kashaev’s theorem on the relation between Drinfeld double and Heisenberg double. As applications, we obtain realizations of the Drinfeld double Hall algebra of 𝒜 via its derived Hall algebra and Bridgeland’s Hall algebra of m -cyclic complexes.

A representation theorem for tense n × m -valued Łukasiewicz-Moisil algebras

Aldo Victorio Figallo, Gustavo Pelaitay (2015)

Mathematica Bohemica

Similarity:

In 2000, Figallo and Sanza introduced n × m -valued Łukasiewicz-Moisil algebras which are both particular cases of matrix Łukasiewicz algebras and a generalization of n -valued Łukasiewicz-Moisil algebras. Here we initiate an investigation into the class n × m of tense n × m -valued Łukasiewicz-Moisil algebras (or tense LM n × m -algebras), namely n × m -valued Łukasiewicz-Moisil algebras endowed with two unary operations called tense operators. These algebras constitute a generalization of tense...

Approximate amenability for Banach sequence algebras

H. G. Dales, R. J. Loy, Y. Zhang (2006)

Studia Mathematica

Similarity:

We consider when certain Banach sequence algebras A on the set ℕ are approximately amenable. Some general results are obtained, and we resolve the special cases where A = p for 1 ≤ p < ∞, showing that these algebras are not approximately amenable. The same result holds for the weighted algebras p ( ω ) .

Quantised 𝔰𝔩 2 -differential algebras

Archivum Mathematicum

Similarity:

We propose a definition of a quantised 𝔰𝔩 2 -differential algebra and show that the quantised exterior algebra (defined by Berenstein and Zwicknagl) and the quantised Clifford algebra (defined by the authors) of  𝔰𝔩 2 are natural examples of such algebras.

ϕ -multipliers on a class of topological algebras

Ali Naziri-Kordkandi (2022)

Mathematica Bohemica

Similarity:

In this paper, we generalize the concept of ϕ -multipliers on Banach algebras to a class of topological algebras. Then the characterizations of ϕ -multipliers are investigated in these algebras.

Second duals of measure algebras

H. G. Dales, A. T.-M. Lau, D. Strauss

Similarity:

Let G be a locally compact group. We shall study the Banach algebras which are the group algebra L¹(G) and the measure algebra M(G) on G, concentrating on their second dual algebras. As a preliminary we shall study the second dual C₀(Ω)” of the C*-algebra C₀(Ω) for a locally compact space Ω, recognizing this space as C(Ω̃), where Ω̃ is the hyper-Stonean envelope of Ω. We shall study the C*-algebra B b ( Ω ) of bounded Borel functions on Ω, and we shall determine the exact cardinality of a variety...

Quantized semisimple Lie groups

Archivum Mathematicum

Similarity:

The goal of this expository paper is to give a quick introduction to q -deformations of semisimple Lie groups. We discuss principally the rank one examples of 𝒰 q ( 𝔰𝔩 2 ) , 𝒪 ( SU q ( 2 ) ) , 𝒟 ( SL q ( 2 , ) ) and related algebras. We treat quantized enveloping algebras, representations of 𝒰 q ( 𝔰𝔩 2 ) , generalities on Hopf algebras and quantum groups, * -structures, quantized algebras of functions on q -deformed compact semisimple groups, the Peter-Weyl theorem, * -Hopf algebras associated to complex semisimple Lie groups and the Drinfeld...
