The author investigates the boundedness of the higher order commutator of strongly singular convolution operator, $T_b^m$, on Herz spaces $K{̇}_q^{\alpha ,p}\left(ℝⁿ\right)$ and $K_q^{\alpha ,p}\left(ℝⁿ\right)$, and on a new class of Herz-type Hardy spaces $HK{̇}_{q,b,m}^{\alpha ,p,0}\left(ℝⁿ\right)$ and $H{K}_{q,b,m}^{\alpha ,p,0}\left(ℝⁿ\right)$, where 0 < p ≤ 1 < q < ∞, α = n(1-1/q) and b ∈ BMO(ℝⁿ).

The case $p=1$ answers a question asked by Rosenthal in 1976.

We prove the $L^p$ boundedness of the Marcinkiewicz integral operators ${\mu }_{\Omega }$ on ${ℝ}^{n₁}\times \cdots \times {ℝ}^{n_k}$ under the condition that $\Omega \in L{\left(logL\right)}^{k/2}{(}^{n₁-1}\times \cdots {\times }^{n_k-1})$. The exponent k/2 is the best possible. This answers an open question posed by Y. Ding.

Moreover, the author obtains the corresponding result about ${\mu }_{\Omega }$ and $[b,{\mu }_{\Omega }]$ on Herz spaces with variable exponent.

For the convolution operators $A_a^{\alpha }$ with symbols ${a\left(\right|\xi \left|\right)\left|\xi \right|}^{-\alpha }expi\left|\xi \right|$, 0 ≤ Re α < n, $a\left(\right|\xi \left|\right)\in L_{\infty }$, we construct integral representations and give the exact description of the set of pairs (1/p,1/q) for which the operators are bounded from $L_p$ to $L_q$.

We study the chemotaxis system with singular sensitivity and logistic-type source: $u_t=\Delta u-\chi \nabla ·(u\nabla v/v)+ru-\mu u^k$, $0=\Delta v-v+u$ under the non-flux boundary conditions in a smooth bounded domain $\Omega \subset {ℝ}^n$, $\chi ,r,\mu >0$, $k>1$ and $n\ge 1$. It is shown with $k\in (1,2)$ that the system possesses a global generalized solution for $n\ge 2$ which is bounded when $\chi >0$ is suitably small related to $r>0$ and the initial datum is properly small, and a global bounded classical solution for $n=1$.

The commutator of a singular integral operator with homogeneous kernel Ω(x)/|x|ⁿ is studied, where Ω is homogeneous of degree zero and has mean value zero on the unit sphere. It is proved that $\Omega \in L{\left(logL\right)}^{k+1}\left(S^{n-1}\right)$ is a sufficient condition for the kth order commutator to be bounded on $L^p\left(ℝⁿ\right)$ for all 1 < p < ∞. Given 0 < p,q < ∞ and any sequence z = zₙ in the unit disc , we define an operator from functions on to sequences by $T_{z,p}\left(f\right)={(1-|zₙ\left|²\right)}^{1/p}f\left(zₙ\right)$. Necessary and sufficient conditions on zₙ are given such that $T_{z,p}$ maps the Hardy space $H^p$ boundedly into the sequence space ${\ell }^q$. A corresponding result for Bergman spaces is also stated.

We consider the Heisenberg group ℍⁿ = ℂⁿ × ℝ. Let ν be the Borel measure on ℍⁿ defined by $\nu \left(E\right)={\int }_{ℂⁿ}{\chi }_E(w,\phi \left(w\right))\eta \left(w\right)dw$, where $\phi \left(w\right)={\sum }_{j=1}^n{a}_j\left|w_j\right|²$, w = (w₁,...,wₙ) ∈ ℂⁿ, $a_j\in ℝ$, and η(w) = η₀(|w|²) with $\eta ₀\in C_c^{\infty }\left(ℝ\right)$. We characterize the set of pairs (p,q) such that the convolution operator with ν is $L^p\left(ℍⁿ\right)-L^q\left(ℍⁿ\right)$ bounded. Motivated by some recent results by Li and Stević, in this paper we prove that a two-parameter family of Cesàro averaging operators ${}^{b,c}$ is bounded on the Dirichlet spaces ${}_{p,a}$. We also give a short and direct proof of boundedness of ${}^{b,c}$ on the Hardy space $H^p$ for 1 < p < ∞.
