Maximal solutions of two–sided linear systems in max–min algebra

Pavel Krbálek, Alena Pozdílková (2010)

Kybernetika

Max-min algebra and its various aspects have been intensively studied by many authors [1, 4] because of its applicability to various areas, such as fuzzy system, knowledge management and others. Binary operations of addition and multiplication of real numbers used in classical linear algebra are replaced in max-min algebra by operations of maximum and minimum. We consider two-sided systems of max-min linear equations A x = B x , with given coefficient matrices A and B . We present a polynomial method for...

Monotone interval eigenproblem in max–min algebra

Martin Gavalec, Ján Plavka (2010)

Kybernetika

The interval eigenproblem in max-min algebra is studied. A classification of interval eigenvectors is introduced and six types of interval eigenvectors are described. Characterization of all six types is given for the case of strictly increasing eigenvectors and Hasse diagram of relations between the types is presented.

New kinds of hybrid filters of EQ-algebras

Akbar Paad (2024)

Mathematica Bohemica

The main goal of this paper is to introduce hybrid positive implicative and hybrid implicative (pre)filters of EQ-algebras. In the following, some characterizations of this hybrid (pre)filters are investigated and it is proved that the quotient algebras induced by hybrid positive implicative filters in residuated EQ-algebras are idempotent and residuated EQ-algebra. Moreover, the relationship between hybrid implicative prefilters and hybrid positive implicative prefilters are discussed and it is...

On hyperplanes and semispaces in max–min convex geometry

Viorel Nitica, Sergeĭ Sergeev (2010)

Kybernetika

The concept of separation by hyperplanes and halfspaces is fundamental for convex geometry and its tropical (max-plus) analogue. However, analogous separation results in max-min convex geometry are based on semispaces. This paper answers the question which semispaces are hyperplanes and when it is possible to “classically” separate by hyperplanes in max-min convex geometry.

On ideals in De Morgan residuated lattices

Liviu-Constantin Holdon (2018)

Kybernetika

In this paper, we introduce a new class of residuated lattices called De Morgan residuated lattices, we show that the variety of De Morgan residuated lattices includes important subvarieties of residuated lattices such as Boolean algebras, MV-algebras, BL-algebras, Stonean residuated lattices, MTL-algebras and involution residuated lattices. We investigate specific properties of ideals in De Morgan residuated lattices, we state the prime ideal theorem and the pseudo-complementedness of the ideal...

On reverses of some binary operators

Michal Šabo, Peter Strežo (2005)

Kybernetika

The notion of reverse of any binary operation on the unit interval is introduced. The properties of reverses of some binary operations are studied and some applications of reverses are indicated.

On the weak robustness of fuzzy matrices

Ján Plavka (2013)

Kybernetika

A matrix A in ( max , min ) -algebra (fuzzy matrix) is called weakly robust if A k x is an eigenvector of A only if x is an eigenvector of A . The weak robustness of fuzzy matrices are studied and its properties are proved. A characterization of the weak robustness of fuzzy matrices is presented and an O ( n 2 ) algorithm for checking the weak robustness is described.

Pure filters and stable topology on BL-algebras

Esfandiar Eslami, Farhad Kh. Haghani (2009)

Kybernetika

In this paper we introduce stable topology and F -topology on the set of all prime filters of a BL-algebra A and show that the set of all prime filters of A , namely Spec( A ) with the stable topology is a compact space but not T 0 . Then by means of stable topology, we define and study pure filters of a BL-algebra A and obtain a one to one correspondence between pure filters of A and closed subsets of Max( A ), the set of all maximal filters of A , as a subspace of Spec( A ). We also show that for any filter...

Quotient algebraic structures on the set of fuzzy numbers

Dorina Fechete, Ioan Fechete (2015)

Kybernetika

A. M. Bica has constructed in [6] two isomorphic Abelian groups, defined on quotient sets of the set of those unimodal fuzzy numbers which have strictly monotone and continuous sides. In this paper, we extend the results of above mentioned paper, to a larger class of fuzzy numbers, by adding the flat fuzzy numbers. Furthermore, we add the topological structure and we characterize the constructed quotient groups, by using the set of the continuous functions with bounded variation, defined on [ 0 , 1 ] .

Solving systems of two–sided (max, min)–linear equations

Martin Gavalec, Karel Zimmermann (2010)

Kybernetika

A finite iteration method for solving systems of (max, min)-linear equations is presented. The systems have variables on both sides of the equations. The algorithm has polynomial complexity and may be extended to wider classes of equations with a similar structure.

Tolerance problems for generalized eigenvectors of interval fuzzy matrices

Martin Gavalec, Helena Myšková, Ján Plavka, Daniela Ponce (2022)

Kybernetika

Fuzzy algebra is a special type of algebraic structure in which classical addition and multiplication are replaced by maximum and minimum (denoted and , respectively). The eigenproblem is the search for a vector x (an eigenvector) and a constant λ (an eigenvalue) such that A x = λ x , where A is a given matrix. This paper investigates a generalization of the eigenproblem in fuzzy algebra. We solve the equation A x = λ B x with given matrices A , B and unknown constant λ and vector x . Generalized eigenvectors have interesting...

X-simplicity of interval max-min matrices

Ján Plavka, Štefan Berežný (2018)

Kybernetika

A matrix A is said to have 𝐗 -simple image eigenspace if any eigenvector x belonging to the interval 𝐗 = { x : x ̲ x x ¯ } containing a constant vector is the unique solution of the system A y = x in 𝐗 . The main result of this paper is an extension of 𝐗 -simplicity to interval max-min matrix 𝐀 = { A : A ̲ A A ¯ } distinguishing two possibilities, that at least one matrix or all matrices from a given interval have 𝐗 -simple image eigenspace. 𝐗 -simplicity of interval matrices in max-min algebra are studied and equivalent conditions for interval...
