The scattering matrix is defined on a perturbed stratified medium. For a class of
perturbations, its main part at fixed energy is a Fourier integral operator on the sphere
at infinity. Proving this is facilitated by developing a refined limiting absorption
principle. The symbol of the scattering matrix determines the asymptotics of a large
class of perturbations.
We prove the unique solvability of parabolic equations with discontinuous leading coefficients in . Using this result, we establish the uniqueness of diffusion processes with time-dependent discontinuous coefficients.
We consider second order quasilinear evolution equations where also the main part contains functional dependence on the unknown function. First, existence of solutions in is proved and examples satisfying the assumptions of the existence theorem are formulated. Then a uniqueness theorem is proved. Finally, existence and some qualitative properties of the solutions in (boundedness and stabilization as ) are shown.
Let Ω be a measure space, and E, F be separable Banach spaces. Given a multifunction , denote by the set of all measurable selections of the multifunction , s ↦ f(s,x(s)), for a function x: Ω → E. First, we obtain new theorems on H-upper/H-lower/lower semicontinuity (without assuming any conditions on the growth of the generating multifunction f(s,u) with respect to u) for the multivalued (Nemytskiĭ) superposition operator mapping some open domain G ⊂ X into , where X and Y are Köthe-Bochner...
We are mainly concerned with equations of the form -Lu = f(x,u) + μ, where L is an operator associated with a quasi-regular possibly nonsymmetric Dirichlet form, f satisfies the monotonicity condition and mild integrability conditions, and μ is a bounded smooth measure. We prove general results on existence, uniqueness and regularity of probabilistic solutions, which are expressed in terms of solutions to backward stochastic differential equations. Applications include equations with nonsymmetric...
In this paper, we generalize the Gauduchon metrics on a compact complex manifold and define the functions on the space of its hermitian metrics.
We consider second order semilinear hyperbolic functional differential equations where the lower order terms contain functional dependence on the unknown function. Existence and uniqueness of solutions for t ∈ (0,T), existence for t ∈ (0,∞) and some qualitative properties of the solutions in (0,∞) are shown.
Let be a hyperbolic surface and let be a Laplacian eigenfunction having eigenvalue with . Let be the set of nodal lines of . For a fixed analytic curve of finite length, we study the number of intersections between and in terms of . When is compact and a geodesic circle, or when has finite volume and is a closed horocycle, we prove that is “good” in the sense of [TZ]. As a result, we obtain that the number of intersections between and is . This bound is sharp.
