On Beurling measure algebras

Ross Stokke (2022)

Commentationes Mathematicae Universitatis Carolinae

We show how the measure theory of regular compacted-Borel measures defined on the δ -ring of compacted-Borel subsets of a weighted locally compact group ( G , ω ) provides a compatible framework for defining the corresponding Beurling measure algebra ( G , ω ) , thus filling a gap in the literature.

On Hartman almost periodic functions

Guy Cohen, Viktor Losert (2006)

Studia Mathematica

We consider multi-dimensional Hartman almost periodic functions and sequences, defined with respect to different averaging sequences of subsets in d or d . We consider the behavior of their Fourier-Bohr coefficients and their spectrum, depending on the particular averaging sequence, and we demonstrate this dependence by several examples. Extensions to compactly generated, locally compact, abelian groups are considered. We define generalized Marcinkiewicz spaces based upon arbitrary measure spaces...

On some general almost periodic optimal control problems : links with periodic problems and necessary conditions

Denis Pennequin (2008)

ESAIM: Control, Optimisation and Calculus of Variations

In this paper, we are concerned with periodic, quasi-periodic (q.p.) and almost periodic (a.p.) Optimal Control problems. After defining these problems and setting them in an abstract setting by using Abstract Harmonic Analysis, we give some structure results of the set of solutions, and study the relations between periodic and a.p. problems. We prove for instance that for an autonomous concave problem, the a.p. problem has a solution if and only if all problems (periodic with fixed or variable...

On φ-inner amenable Banach algebras

A. Jabbari, T. Mehdi Abad, M. Zaman Abadi (2011)

Colloquium Mathematicae

Generalizing the concept of inner amenability for Lau algebras, we define and study the notion of φ-inner amenability of any Banach algebra A, where φ is a homomorphism from A onto ℂ. Several characterizations of φ-inner amenable Banach algebras are given.
