Geometría de gramianos en el espacio de Hilbert.

Pedro J. Burillo López, Joaquín Aguilella Almer (1981)

Stochastica

The purpose of the Part I of this paper is to develop the geometry of Gram's determinants in Hilbert space. In Parts II and III a generalization is given of the Pythagorean theorem and triangular inequality for finite vector families.

Global existence for a Riccati equation arising in a boundary control problem for distributed parameters

Franco Flandoli (1982)

Atti della Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali. Rendiconti Lincei. Matematica e Applicazioni

Si prova resistenza globale della soluzione di una equazione di Riccati collegata alla sintesi di un problema di controllo ottimale. Il problema considerato rappresenta la versione astratta di alcuni problemi governati da equazioni paraboliche con il controllo sulla frontiera.

Hilbert C*-modules and amenable actions

Ronald G. Douglas, Piotr W. Nowak (2010)

Studia Mathematica

We study actions of discrete groups on Hilbert C*-modules induced from topological actions on compact Hausdorff spaces. We show non-amenability of actions of non-amenable and non-a-T-menable groups, provided there exists a quasi-invariant probability measure which is sufficiently close to being invariant.

Hyers-Ulam constants of Hilbert spaces

Taneli Huuskonen, Jussi Väısälä (2002)

Studia Mathematica

The best constant in the Hyers-Ulam theorem on isometric approximation in Hilbert spaces is equal to the Jung constant of the space.

Hyperbolic-like manifolds, geometrical properties and holomorphic mappings

Grzegorz Boryczka, Luis Tovar (1996)

Banach Center Publications

The authors are dealing with the Dirichlet integral-type biholomorphic-invariant pseudodistance ρ X α ( z 0 , z ) [ ] introduced by Dolbeault and Ławrynowicz (1989) in connection with bordered holomorphic chains of dimension one. Several properties of the related hyperbolic-like manifolds are considered remarking the analogies with and differences from the familiar hyperbolic and Stein manifolds. Likewise several examples are treated in detail.

Indefinite numerical range of 3 × 3 matrices

N. Bebiano, J. da Providência, R. Teixeira (2009)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

The point equation of the associated curve of the indefinite numerical range is derived, following Fiedler’s approach for definite inner product spaces. The classification of the associated curve is presented in the 3 × 3 indefinite case, using Newton’s classification of cubic curves. Illustrative examples of all the different possibilities are given. The results obtained extend to Krein spaces results of Kippenhahn on the classical numerical range.

Infinite probabilistic secret sharing

Laszlo Csirmaz (2023)

Kybernetika

A probabilistic secret sharing scheme is a joint probability distribution of the shares and the secret together with a collection of secret recovery functions. The study of schemes using arbitrary probability spaces and unbounded number of participants allows us to investigate their abstract properties, to connect the topic to other branches of mathematics, and to discover new design paradigms. A scheme is perfect if unqualified subsets have no information on the secret, that is, their total share...
