On weak-open π -images of metric spaces

Zhaowen Li (2006)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

In this paper, we give some characterizations of metric spaces under weak-open π -mappings, which prove that a space is g -developable (or Cauchy) if and only if it is a weak-open π -image of a metric space.

Probabilistic approach spaces

Gunther Jäger (2017)

Mathematica Bohemica

We study a probabilistic generalization of Lowen's approach spaces. Such a probabilistic approach space is defined in terms of a probabilistic distance which assigns to a point and a subset a distance distribution function. We give a suitable axiom scheme and show that the resulting category is isomorphic to the category of left-continuous probabilistic topological convergence spaces and hence is a topological category. We further show that the category of Lowen's approach spaces is isomorphic to...

Recouvrements, derivation des mesures et dimensions.

Patrice Assouad, Thierry Quentin de Gromard (2006)

Revista Matemática Iberoamericana

Let X be a set with a symmetric kernel d (not necessarily a distance). The space (X,d) is said to have the weak (resp. strong) covering property of degree ≤ m [briefly prf(m) (resp. prF(m))], if, for each family B of closed balls of (X,d) with radii in a decreasing sequence (resp. with bounded radii), there is a subfamily, covering the center of each element of B, and of order ≤ m (resp. splitting into m disjoint families). Since Besicovitch, covering properties are known to be the main tool for...

Remarks on sequence-covering maps

Luong Quoc Tuyen (2012)

Commentationes Mathematicae Universitatis Carolinae

In this paper, we prove that each sequence-covering and boundary-compact map on g -metrizable spaces is 1-sequence-covering. Then, we give some relationships between sequence-covering maps and 1-sequence-covering maps or weak-open maps, and give an affirmative answer to the problem posed by F.C. Lin and S. Lin in [Lin.F.C.and.Lin.S-2011].

Spaces with σ -locally countable weak-bases

Zhaowen Li (2006)

Archivum Mathematicum

In this paper, spaces with σ -locally countable weak-bases are characterized as the weakly open msss-images of metric spaces (or g -first countable spaces with σ -locally countable c s -networks).
