On the Stability of Jungck–Mann, Jungck–Krasnoselskij and Jungck Iteration Processes in Arbitrary Banach Spaces

Alfred Olufemi Bosede (2011)

Acta Universitatis Palackianae Olomucensis. Facultas Rerum Naturalium. Mathematica

In this paper, we establish some stability results for the Jungck–Mann, Jungck–Krasnoselskij and Jungck iteration processes in arbitrary Banach spaces. These results are proved for a pair of nonselfmappings using the Jungck–Mann, Jungck–Krasnoselskij and Jungck iterations. Our results are generalizations and extensions to a multitude of stability results in literature including those of Imoru and Olatinwo [8], Jungck [10], Berinde [1] and many others.

On the weakly(α, ψ, ξ)-contractive condition for multi-valued operators in metric spaces and related fixed point results

Marwan Amin Kutbi, Wutiphol Sintunavarat (2016)

Open Mathematics

The aim of this paper is to introduce the concept of a new nonlinear multi-valued mapping so called weakly (α, ψ, ξ)-contractive mapping and prove fixed point results for such mappings in metric spaces. Our results unify, generalize and complement various results from the literature. We give some examples which support our main results while previous results in literature are not applicable. Also, we analyze the existence of fixed points for mappings satisfying a general contractive inequality of...

On the ω-limit sets of tent maps

Andrew D. Barwell, Gareth Davies, Chris Good (2012)

Fundamenta Mathematicae

For a continuous map f on a compact metric space (X,d), a set D ⊂ X is internally chain transitive if for every x,y ∈ D and every δ > 0 there is a sequence of points ⟨x = x₀,x₁,...,xₙ = y⟩ such that d ( f ( x i ) , x i + 1 ) < δ for 0 ≤ i< n. In this paper, we prove that for tent maps with periodic critical point, every closed, internally chain transitive set is necessarily an ω-limit set. Furthermore, we show that there are at least countably many tent maps with non-recurrent critical point for which there is a closed,...

On time reparametrizations and isomorphisms of impulsive dynamical systems

Krzysztof Ciesielski (2004)

Annales Polonici Mathematici

We prove that for a given impulsive dynamical system there exists an isomorphism of the basic dynamical system such that in the new system equipped with the same impulse function each impulsive trajectory is global, i.e. the resulting dynamics is defined for all positive times. We also prove that for a given impulsive system it is possible to change the topology in the phase space so that we may consider the system as a semidynamical system (without impulses).

On topological and algebraic structure of extremally disconnected semitopological groups

Aleksander V. Arhangel'skii (2000)

Commentationes Mathematicae Universitatis Carolinae

Starting with a very simple proof of Frol’ık’s theorem on homeomorphisms of extremally disconnected spaces, we show how this theorem implies a well known result of Malychin: that every extremally disconnected topological group contains an open and closed subgroup, consisting of elements of order 2 . We also apply Frol’ık’s theorem to obtain some further theorems on the structure of extremally disconnected topological groups and of semitopological groups with continuous inverse. In particular, every...

On topological groups with a small base and metrizability

Saak Gabriyelyan, Jerzy Kąkol, Arkady Leiderman (2015)

Fundamenta Mathematicae

A (Hausdorff) topological group is said to have a -base if it admits a base of neighbourhoods of the unit, U α : α , such that U α U β whenever β ≤ α for all α , β . The class of all metrizable topological groups is a proper subclass of the class T G of all topological groups having a -base. We prove that a topological group is metrizable iff it is Fréchet-Urysohn and has a -base. We also show that any precompact set in a topological group G T G is metrizable, and hence G is strictly angelic. We deduce from this result...
