Limit theorem for random walk in weakly dependent random scenery

Nadine Guillotin-Plantard, Clémentine Prieur (2010)

Annales de l'I.H.P. Probabilités et statistiques

Let S=(Sk)k≥0 be a random walk on ℤ and ξ=(ξi)i∈ℤ a stationary random sequence of centered random variables, independent of S. We consider a random walk in random scenery that is the sequence of random variables (Un)n≥0, where Un=∑k=0nξSk, n∈ℕ. Under a weak dependence assumption on the scenery ξ we prove a functional limit theorem generalizing Kesten and Spitzer’s [Z. Wahrsch. Verw. Gebiete50 (1979) 5–25] theorem.

Limit theorems for U-statistics indexed by a one dimensional random walk

Nadine Guillotin-Plantard, Véronique Ladret (2005)

ESAIM: Probability and Statistics

Let ( S n ) n 0 be a -random walk and ( ξ x ) x be a sequence of independent and identically distributed -valued random variables, independent of the random walk. Let h be a measurable, symmetric function defined on 2 with values in . We study the weak convergence of the sequence 𝒰 n , n , with values in D [ 0 , 1 ] the set of right continuous real-valued functions with left limits, defined by i , j = 0 [ n t ] h ( ξ S i , ξ S j ) , t [ 0 , 1 ] . Statistical applications are presented, in particular we prove a strong law of large numbers for U -statistics indexed by a one-dimensional...

Local percolative properties of the vacant set of random interlacements with small intensity

Alexander Drewitz, Balázs Ráth, Artëm Sapozhnikov (2014)

Annales de l'I.H.P. Probabilités et statistiques

Random interlacements at level u is a one parameter family of connected random subsets of d , d 3 (Ann. Math.171(2010) 2039–2087). Its complement, the vacant set at level u , exhibits a non-trivial percolation phase transition in u (Comm. Pure Appl. Math.62 (2009) 831–858; Ann. Math.171 (2010) 2039–2087), and the infinite connected component, when it exists, is almost surely unique (Ann. Appl. Probab.19(2009) 454–466). In this paper we study local percolative properties of the vacant set of random interlacements...

Long time behavior of random walks on abelian groups

Alexander Bendikov, Barbara Bobikau (2010)

Colloquium Mathematicae

Let be a locally compact non-compact metric group. Assuming that is abelian we construct symmetric aperiodic random walks on with probabilities n ( S 2 n V ) of return to any neighborhood V of the neutral element decaying at infinity almost as fast as the exponential function n ↦ exp(-n). We also show that for some discrete groups , the decay of the function n ( S 2 n V ) can be made as slow as possible by choosing appropriate aperiodic random walks Sₙ on .
