Monosplines and inequalities for the remainder term of quadrature formulas.
For scalar conservation laws in one space dimension with a flux function discontinuous in space, there exist infinitely many classes of solutions which are L1 contractive. Each class is characterized by a connection (A,B) which determines the interface entropy. For solutions corresponding to a connection (A,B), there exists convergent numerical schemes based on Godunov or Engquist−Osher schemes. The natural question is how to obtain schemes, corresponding to computationally less expensive monotone...
The interval eigenproblem in max-min algebra is studied. A classification of interval eigenvectors is introduced and six types of interval eigenvectors are described. Characterization of all six types is given for the case of strictly increasing eigenvectors and Hasse diagram of relations between the types is presented.
The paper deals with the existence of solutions of the form with operators monotone in a broader sense, including pseudomonotone operators and operators satisfying conditions and . The first part of the paper which has a methodical character is concluded by the proof of an existence theorem for the equation on a reflexive separable Banach space with a bounded demicontinuous coercive operator satisfying condition . The second part which has a character of a survey compares various types of...
