This paper proposes and analyzes a BEM-FEM scheme to approximate a time-harmonic diffusion problem in the plane with non-constant coefficients in a bounded area. The model is set as a Helmholtz transmission problem with adsorption and with non-constant coefficients in a bounded domain. We reformulate the problem as a four-field system. For the temperature and the heat flux we use piecewise constant functions and lowest order Raviart-Thomas elements associated to a triangulation approximating the...

The generalized Wiener-Hopf equation and the approximation methods are used to propose a perturbed iterative method to compute the solutions of a general class of nonlinear variational inequalities.

Strongly Fejér monotone mappings are widely used to solve convex problems by corresponding iterative methods. Here the maximal of such mappings with respect to set inclusion of the images are investigated. These mappings supply restriction zones for the successors of Fejér monotone iterative methods. The basic tool is the representation of the images by intersection of certain balls.
