One-step and Extrapolation Methods for Differential-Algebraic Systems.
Experimental evidence points to a rich variety of physical scenarios that arise when a laminar flame propagates through a pre-mixture of evaporating liquid fuel and a gaseous oxidant. In this paper new results of time-dependent numerical simulations of rich off-stoichiometric spray flame propagation in a two-dimensional channel are presented. A constant density model is adopted, thereby eliminating the Darrieus-Landau instability. It is demonstrated...
Gaseous detonation is a phenomenon with very complicated dynamics which has been studied extensively by physicists, mathematicians and engineers for many years. Despite many efforts the problem is far from a complete resolution. Recently the theory of subsonic detonation that occurs in highly resistant porous media was proposed in [4]. This theory provides a model which is realistic, rich and suitable for a mathematical study. In particular, the model is capable of describing the transition from...
Bounded traveling waves, arising in combustion model for gas-solid reactions in a porous medium, are studied. We consider the existence, uniqueness and several qualitative properties. In particular we investigate waves with finiteness and derive estimates in the limit of vanishing diffusion.
