A remark on solving large systems of equations in function spaces

I. Bremer, Klaus R. Schneider (1990)

Aplikace matematiky

In order to save CPU-time in solving large systems of equations in function spaces we decompose the large system in subsystems and solve the subsystems by an appropriate method. We give a sufficient condition for the convergence of the corresponding procedure and apply the approach to differential algebraic systems.

A remark on the asymmetry of convolution operators

Saverio Giulini (1989)

Atti della Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali. Rendiconti Lincei. Matematica e Applicazioni

A convolution operator, bounded on L q ( n ) , is bounded on L p ( n ) , with the same operator norm, if p and q are conjugate exponents. It is well known that this fact is false if we replace n with a general non-commutative locally compact group G . In this paper we give a simple construction of a convolution operator on a suitable compact group G , wich is bounded on L q ( G ) for every q [ 2 , ) and is unbounded on L p ( G ) if p [ 1 , 2 ) .

A remark on the local Lipschitz continuity of vector hysteresis operators

Pavel Krejčí (2001)

Applications of Mathematics

It is known that the vector stop operator with a convex closed characteristic Z of class C 1 is locally Lipschitz continuous in the space of absolutely continuous functions if the unit outward normal mapping n is Lipschitz continuous on the boundary Z of Z . We prove that in the regular case, this condition is also necessary.

A remark on the multipliers on spaces of Weak Products of functions

Stefan Richter, Brett D. Wick (2016)

Concrete Operators

If H denotes a Hilbert space of analytic functions on a region Ω ⊆ Cd , then the weak product is defined by [...] We prove that if H is a first order holomorphic Besov Hilbert space on the unit ball of Cd , then the multiplier algebras of H and of H ⊙ H coincide.

A remark on the range of elementary operators

Said Bouali, Youssef Bouhafsi (2010)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

Let L ( H ) denote the algebra of all bounded linear operators on a separable infinite dimensional complex Hilbert space H into itself. Given A L ( H ) , we define the elementary operator Δ A : L ( H ) L ( H ) by Δ A ( X ) = A X A - X . In this paper we study the class of operators A L ( H ) which have the following property: A T A = T implies A T * A = T * for all trace class operators T C 1 ( H ) . Such operators are termed generalized quasi-adjoints. The main result is the equivalence between this character and the fact that the ultraweak closure of the range of Δ A is closed under taking...
