A space $X$ is said to have the Rothberger property (or simply $X$ is Rothberger) if for every sequence $\langle {𝒰}_n:n\in \omega \rangle$ of open covers of $X$, there exists $U_n\in {𝒰}_n$ for each $n\in \omega$ such that $X={\bigcup }_{n\in \omega }{U}_n$. For any $n\in \omega$, necessary and sufficient conditions are obtained for $C_p{(\Psi \left(𝒜\right),2)}^n$ to have the Rothberger property when $𝒜$ is a Mrówka mad family and, assuming CH (the Continuum Hypothesis), we prove the existence of a maximal almost disjoint family $𝒜$ for which the space $C_p{(\Psi \left(𝒜\right),2)}^n$ is Rothberger for all $n\in \omega$.

We consider the equation $$-r\left(x\right)y^{\text{'}}\left(x\right)+q\left(x\right)y\left(x\right)=f\left(x\right),x\in ℝ$$ where $f\in L_p\left(ℝ\right)$, $p\in [1,\infty ]$ ($L_{\infty }\left(ℝ\right):=C\left(ℝ\right)$) and $$0<r\in C^{}\left(ℝ\right),0\le q\in L_1^{}\left(ℝ\right).$$ We obtain minimal requirements to the functions $r$ and $q$, in addition to (), under which equation () is correctly solvable in $L_p\left(ℝ\right)$, $p\in [1,\infty ]$.

We show a $p$-parity result in a $D_{2p^n}$-extension of number fields $L/K$ ($p\ge 5$) for the twist $1\oplus \eta \oplus \tau$: $W(E/K,1\oplus \eta \oplus \tau )={(-1)}^{〈1\oplus \eta \oplus \tau ,X_p(E/L)〉}$, where $E$ is an elliptic curve over $K$, $\eta$ and $\tau$ are respectively the quadratic character and an irreductible representation of degree $2$ of $\mathrm{Gal}(L/K)=D_{2p^n}$, and $X_p(E/L)$ is the $p$-Selmer group. Let $\alpha \&gt;1$ be irrational. Several authors studied the numbers $${\ell }^m\left(\alpha \right)=inf\left\{\right|y|:y\in {\Lambda }_m,y\ne 0\},$$ where $m$ is a positive integer and ${\Lambda }_m$ denotes the set of all real numbers of the form $y={ϵ}_0{\alpha }^n+{ϵ}_1{\alpha }^{n-1}+\cdots +{ϵ}_{n-1}\alpha +{ϵ}_n$ with restricted integer coefficients $|{ϵ}_i|\le m$. The value of ${\ell }^1\left(\alpha \right)$ was determined for many particular Pisot numbers and ${\ell }^m\left(\alpha \right)$ for the golden number. In this paper the value of ${\ell }^m\left(\alpha \right)$ is determined for irrational numbers $\alpha$, satisfying ${\alpha }^2=a\alpha \pm 1$ with a positive integer $a$.

We show that every operator from ${\ell }_s$ to ${\ell }_p\otimes ̂{\ell }_q$ is compact when 1 ≤ p,q < s and that every operator from ${\ell }_s$ to ${\ell }_p\widehat{\otimes ̂}{\ell }_q$ is compact when 1/p + 1/q > 1 + 1/s.

Let $f^j={\sum }_k{a}_{k}f(2^{j+1}x-2k)$, where the sum is taken over the lattice of all points k in ${ℝ}^n$ having integer-valued components, j∈ℕ and $a_k\in ℂ$. Let $A_{pq}^s$ be either $B_{pq}^s$ or $F_{pq}^s$ (s ∈ ℝ, 0 < p < ∞, 0 < q ≤ ∞) on ${ℝ}^n.$ The aim of the paper is to clarify under what conditions $\parallel f^j|A_{pq}^s\parallel$ is equivalent to $2^{j(s-n/p)}({\sum }_k|a_k{|}^p{)}^{1/p}\parallel f|A_{pq}^s\parallel$.

We show that any ${\Sigma }_s$-product of at most $𝔠$-many $L\Sigma (\le \omega )$-spaces has the $L\Sigma (\le \omega )$-property. This result generalizes some known results about $L\Sigma (\le \omega )$-spaces. On the other hand, we prove that every ${\Sigma }_s$-product of monotonically monolithic spaces is monotonically monolithic, and in a similar form, we show that every ${\Sigma }_s$-product of Collins-Roscoe spaces has the Collins-Roscoe property. We prove that if $X$ is a first countable space with property $\left(DC\left({\omega }_1\right)\right)$ and with a $G_{\delta }$-diagonal then the cardinality of $X$ is at most $𝔠$. We also show that if $X$ is a first countable, DCCC, normal space then the extent of $X$ is at most $𝔠$.

We prove that Bloch’s conjecture is true for surfaces with $p_g=0$ obtained as $0$-sets $X_{\sigma }$ of a section $\sigma$ of a very ample vector bundle on a variety $X$ with “trivial” Chow groups. We get a similar result in presence of a finite group action, showing that if a projector of the group acts as $0$ on holomorphic $2$-forms of $X_{\sigma }$, then it acts as $0$ on $0$-cycles of degree $0$ of $X_{\sigma }$. We give new results on square functions $${\parallel x\parallel }_F=\parallel {\left({\int }_0^{\infty }{\left|F\left(tA\right)x\right|}^2\frac{\mathrm{d}t}{t}\right)}^{1/2}{\parallel }_p$$ associated to a sectorial operator $A$ on $L^p$ for $1\&lt;p\&lt;\infty$. Under the assumption that $A$ is actually $R$-sectorial, we prove equivalences of the form $K^{-1}{\parallel x\parallel }_G\le {\parallel x\parallel }_F\le K{\parallel x\parallel }_G$ for suitable functions $F,G$. We also show that $A$ has a bounded $H^{\infty }$ functional calculus with respect to ${\parallel .\parallel }_F$. Let $\varphi$ be a substitution of Pisot type on the alphabet $𝒜=\{1,2,...,d\}$; $\varphi$ satisfies theif for every $i,j\in 𝒜$, there are integers $k,n$ such that ${\varphi }^n\left(i\right)$ and ${\varphi }^n\left(j\right)$ have the same $k$-th letter, and the prefixes of length $k-1$ of ${\varphi }^n\left(i\right)$ and ${\varphi }^n\left(j\right)$ have the same image under the abelianization map. We prove that the strong coincidence condition is satisfied if $d=2$ and provide a partial result for $d\ge 2$.
