Let $𝕍$ be a separable real Hilbert space, $k\in \mathbb{N}$ with $k<dim𝕍$, and let $B$ be convex and closed in $𝕍$. Let $𝒫$ be a collection of linear $k$-subspaces of $𝕍$. A point $w\in B$ is called exposed by $𝒫$ if there is a $P\in 𝒫$ so that $(w+P)\cap B=\left\{w\right\}$. We show that, under some natural conditions, $B$ can be reconstituted as the convex hull of the closure of all its exposed by $𝒫$ points whenever $𝒫$ is dense and $G_{\delta }$. In addition, we discuss the question when the set of exposed by some $𝒫$ points forms a $G_{\delta }$-set.

Let $\mathscr{H}$ be a complex Hilbert space, $A$ a positive operator with closed range in $ℬ\left(\mathscr{H}\right)$ and ${ℬ}_A\left(\mathscr{H}\right)$ the sub-algebra of $ℬ\left(\mathscr{H}\right)$ of all $A$-self-adjoint operators. We consider simultaneous solutions of operator Sylvester equations $A_{i}X-X{B}_i=C_i$ (1 ≤ i ≤ k), where $(A₁,...,A_k)$ and $(B₁,...,B_k)$ are commuting k-tuples of bounded linear operators on Banach spaces and ℱ, respectively, and $(C₁,...,C_k)$ is a (compatible) k-tuple of bounded linear operators from ℱ to , and prove that if the joint Taylor spectra of $(A₁,...,A_k)$ and $(B₁,...,B_k)$ do not intersect, then this system of Sylvester equations has a unique simultaneous solution.

Let $L\left(H\right)$ denote the algebra of operators on a complex infinite dimensional Hilbert space $H$. For $A,B\in L\left(H\right)$, the generalized derivation ${\delta }_{A,B}$ and the elementary operator ${\Delta }_{A,B}$ are defined by ${\delta }_{A,B}\left(X\right)=AX-XB$ and ${\Delta }_{A,B}\left(X\right)=AXB-X$ for all $X\in L\left(H\right)$. We show that for a linear space of operators $ℳ\subseteq ℬ({\mathscr{H}}_1,{\mathscr{H}}_2)$ the following assertions are equivalent. (i) $ℳ$ is reflexive in the sense of Loginov-Shulman. (ii) There exists an order-preserving map $\Psi =({\psi }_1,{\psi }_2)$ on a bilattice $\mathrm{Bil}\left(ℳ\right)$ of subspaces determined by $ℳ$ with $P\le {\psi }_1(P,Q)$ and $Q\le {\psi }_2(P,Q)$ for any pair $(P,Q)\in \mathrm{Bil}\left(ℳ\right)$, and such that an operator $T\in ℬ({\mathscr{H}}_1,{\mathscr{H}}_2)$ lies in $ℳ$ if and only if ${\psi }_2(P,Q)T{\psi }_1(P,Q)=0$ for all $(P,Q)\in \mathrm{Bil}\left(ℳ\right)$. This extends the Erdos-Power type characterization of weakly closed bimodules over a nest algebra to reflexive spaces.

In this paper, we obtain new sufficient conditions for the operators $F_{{\alpha }_1,{\alpha }_2,...,{\alpha }_n,\beta }\left(z\right)$ and $G_{{\alpha }_1,{\alpha }_2,...,{\alpha }_n,\beta }\left(z\right)$ to be univalent in the open unit disc $𝒰$, where the functions $f_1,f_2,...,f_n$ belong to the classes $S^{*}(a,b)$ and $𝒦(a,b)$. The order of convexity for the operators $F_{{\alpha }_1,{\alpha }_2,...,{\alpha }_n,\beta }\left(z\right)$ and $G_{{\alpha }_1,{\alpha }_2,...,{\alpha }_n,\beta }\left(z\right)$ is also determined. Furthermore, and for $\beta =1$, we obtain sufficient conditions for the operators $F_n\left(z\right)$ and $G_n\left(z\right)$ to be in the class $𝒦(a,b)$. Let $X\subset {\mathbb{P}}^n$ be an integral and non-degenerate $m$-dimensional variety defined over $ℝ$. For any $P\in {\mathbb{P}}^n\left(ℝ\right)$ the real $X$-rank $r_{X,ℝ}\left(P\right)$ is the minimal cardinality of $S\subset X\left(ℝ\right)$ such that $P\in \langle S\rangle$. Here we extend to the real case an upper bound for the $X$-rank due to Landsberg and Teitler.

Let $D$ be a ${𝒞}^d$ $q$-convex intersection, $d\ge 2$, $0\le q\le n-1$, in a complex manifold $X$ of complex dimension $n$, $n\ge 2$, and let $E$ be a holomorphic vector bundle of rank $N$ over $X$. In this paper, ${𝒞}^k$-estimates, $k=2,3,\cdots ,\infty$, for solutions to the $\overline{\partial }$-equation with small loss of smoothness are obtained for $E$-valued $(0,s)$-forms on $D$ when $n-q\le s\le n$. We characterise the boundedness of the $H^{\infty }$ calculus of a sectorial operator in terms of dilation theorems. We show e. g. that if $-A$ generates a bounded analytic $C_0$ semigroup $\left(T_t\right)$ on a UMD space, then the $H^{\infty }$ calculus of $A$ is bounded if and only if $\left(T_t\right)$ has a dilation to a bounded group on $L^2([0,1],X)$. This generalises a Hilbert space result of C.LeMerdy. If $X$ is an $L^p$ space we can choose another $L^p$ space in place of $L^2([0,1],X)$.
