Let $\mu \in {\left({ℝ}^d\right)}^{\text{'}}$ be an analytic functional and let $T_{\mu }$ be the corresponding convolution operator on Sato’s space $\left({ℝ}^d\right)$ of hyperfunctions. We show that $T_{\mu }$ is surjective iff $T_{\mu }$ admits an elementary solution in $\left({ℝ}^d\right)$ iff the Fourier transform μ̂ satisfies Kawai’s slowly decreasing condition (S). We also show that there are $0\ne \mu \in {\left({ℝ}^d\right)}^{\text{'}}$ such that $T_{\mu }$ is not surjective on $\left({ℝ}^d\right)$.

A convolution operator, bounded on $L^q({ℝ}^n)$, is bounded on $L^p({ℝ}^n)$, with the same operator norm, if $p$ and $q$ are conjugate exponents. It is well known that this fact is false if we replace ${ℝ}^n$ with a general non-commutative locally compact group $G$. In this paper we give a simple construction of a convolution operator on a suitable compact group $G$, wich is bounded on $L^q(G)$ for every $q\in [2,\mathrm{\infty })$ and is unbounded on $L^p(G)$ if $p\in [1,2)$.

We consider the Heisenberg group ℍⁿ = ℂⁿ × ℝ. Let ν be the Borel measure on ℍⁿ defined by $\nu \left(E\right)={\int }_{ℂⁿ}{\chi }_E(w,\phi \left(w\right))\eta \left(w\right)dw$, where $\phi \left(w\right)={\sum }_{j=1}^n{a}_j\left|w_j\right|²$, w = (w₁,...,wₙ) ∈ ℂⁿ, $a_j\in ℝ$, and η(w) = η₀(|w|²) with $\eta ₀\in C_c^{\infty }\left(ℝ\right)$. For Banach spaces $X$ and $Y$, let $K_{w^{*}}(X^{*},Y)$ denote the space of all $w^{*}-w$ continuous compact operators from $X^{*}$ to $Y$ endowed with the operator norm. A Banach space $X$ has the $wGP$ property if every Grothendieck subset of $X$ is relatively weakly compact. In this paper we study Banach spaces with property $wGP$. We investigate whether the spaces $K_{w^{*}}(X^{*},Y)$ and $X{\otimes }_{ϵ}Y$ have the $wGP$ property, when $X$ and $Y$ have the $wGP$ property.

We characterise the boundedness of the $H^{\infty }$ calculus of a sectorial operator in terms of dilation theorems. We show e. g. that if $-A$ generates a bounded analytic $C_0$ semigroup $\left(T_t\right)$ on a UMD space, then the $H^{\infty }$ calculus of $A$ is bounded if and only if $\left(T_t\right)$ has a dilation to a bounded group on $L^2([0,1],X)$. This generalises a Hilbert space result of C.LeMerdy. If $X$ is an $L^p$ space we can choose another $L^p$ space in place of $L^2([0,1],X)$.

We show that any ${\Sigma }_s$-product of at most $𝔠$-many $L\Sigma (\le \omega )$-spaces has the $L\Sigma (\le \omega )$-property. This result generalizes some known results about $L\Sigma (\le \omega )$-spaces. On the other hand, we prove that every ${\Sigma }_s$-product of monotonically monolithic spaces is monotonically monolithic, and in a similar form, we show that every ${\Sigma }_s$-product of Collins-Roscoe spaces has the Collins-Roscoe property.
