On n × m-valued Łukasiewicz-Moisil algebras

Claudia Sanza (2008)

Open Mathematics

n×m-valued Łukasiewicz algebras with negation were introduced and investigated in [20, 22, 23]. These algebras constitute a non trivial generalization of n-valued Łukasiewicz-Moisil algebras and in what follows, we shall call them n×m-valued Łukasiewicz-Moisil algebras (or LM n×m -algebras). In this paper, the study of this new class of algebras is continued. More precisely, a topological duality for these algebras is described and a characterization of LM n×m -congruences in terms of special subsets...

On order and morphisms related to a Sheffer stroke.

Enric Trillas, V. Pawlowsky (1983)

Stochastica

This paper deals with a new interpretation of a special functional characterisation of Sheffer strokes, with the study of morphisms and the construction of different De Morgan Algebras on a given set.

On some isomorphisms of De Morgan algebras of fuzzy sets.

Francesc Esteva (1983)

Stochastica

In this paper the classes of De Morgan algebras (P(X),∩,U,n) are studied. With respect to isomorphisms of such algebras, being P(X) the fuzzy sets on a universe X taking values in [0,1], U and ∩ the usual union and intersection given by max and min operations and n a proper complement.

On the lattice of n-filters of an LM n-algebra

Dumitru Buşneag, Florentina Chirteş (2007)

Open Mathematics

For an n-valued Łukasiewicz-Moisil algebra L (or LM n-algebra for short) we denote by F n(L) the lattice of all n-filters of L. The goal of this paper is to study the lattice F n(L) and to give new characterizations for the meet-irreducible and completely meet-irreducible elements on F n(L).

Orthogonal decompositions of MV-spaces.

L. Peter Belluce, Salvatore Sessa (1997)

Mathware and Soft Computing

A maximal disjoint subset S of an MV-algebra A is a basis iff {x in A : x ≤ a} is a linearly ordered subset of A for all a in S. Let Spec A be the set of the prime ideals of A with the usual spectral topology. A decomposition Spec A = Ui in I Ti U X is said to be orthogonal iff each Ti is compact open and S = {ai}i in I is a maximal disjoint subset. We prove that this decomposition is unrefinable (i.e. no Ti = Theta ∩ Y with Theta open, Theta ∩ Y = emptyset, int Y = emptyset) iff S is a basis. Many...

Residuation in twist products and pseudo-Kleene posets

Ivan Chajda, Helmut Länger (2022)

Mathematica Bohemica

M. Busaniche, R. Cignoli (2014), C. Tsinakis and A. M. Wille (2006) showed that every residuated lattice induces a residuation on its full twist product. For their construction they used also lattice operations. We generalize this problem to left-residuated groupoids which need not be lattice-ordered. Hence, we cannot use the same construction for the full twist product. We present another appropriate construction which, however, does not preserve commutativity and associativity of multiplication....

Subdirectly irreducible MV-algebras

Hernando Gaitan (2003)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

In this note we characterize the one-generated subdirectly irreducible MV-algebras and use this characterization to prove that a quasivariety of MV-algebras has the relative congruence extension property if and only if it is a variety.

Super-De Morgan functions and free De Morgan quasilattices

Yuri Movsisyan, Vahagn Aslanyan (2014)

Open Mathematics

A De Morgan quasilattice is an algebra satisfying hyperidentities of the variety of De Morgan algebras (lattices). In this paper we give a functional representation of the free n-generated De Morgan quasilattice with two binary and one unary operations. Namely, we define the concept of super-De Morgan function and prove that the free De Morgan quasilattice with two binary and one unary operations on nfree generators is isomorphic to the De Morgan quasilattice of super-De Morgan functions of nvariables....
