On solving systems of differential algebraic equations

Marian Kwapisz (1992)

Applications of Mathematics

In the paper the comparison method is used to prove the convergence of the Picard iterations, the Seidel iterations, as well as some modifications of these methods applied to approximate solution of systems of differential algebraic equations. The both linear and nonlinear comparison equations are emloyed.

On systems governed by two alternating vector fields

Alois Klíč, Jan Řeháček (1994)

Applications of Mathematics

We investigate the nonautonomous periodic system of ODE’s of the form x ˙ = v ( x ) + r p ( t ) ( w ( x ) - v ( x ) ) , where r p ( t ) is a 2 p -periodic function defined by r p ( t ) = 0 for t 0 , p , r p ( t ) = 1 for t ( p , 2 p ) and the vector fields v and w are related by an involutive diffeomorphism.

On the determination of the potential function from given orbits

L. Alboul, J. Mencía, R. Ramírez, N. Sadovskaia (2008)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

The paper deals with the problem of finding the field of force that generates a given ( N - 1 )-parametric family of orbits for a mechanical system with N degrees of freedom. This problem is usually referred to as the inverse problem of dynamics. We study this problem in relation to the problems of celestial mechanics. We state and solve a generalization of the Dainelli and Joukovski problem and propose a new approach to solve the inverse Suslov’s problem. We apply the obtained results to generalize the...
