On global transformations of ordinary differential equations of the second order

Václav Tryhuk (2000)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

The paper describes the general form of an ordinary differential equation of the second order which allows a nontrivial global transformation consisting of the change of the independent variable and of a nonvanishing factor. A result given by J. Aczél is generalized. A functional equation of the form f ( t , v y , w y + u v z ) = f ( x , y , z ) u 2 v + g ( t , x , u , v , w ) v z + h ( t , x , u , v , w ) y + 2 u w z is solved on for y 0 , v 0 .

On meromorphic solutions of the Riccati differential equations

Ran Ran Zhang, Zong Xuan Chen (2010)

Annales Polonici Mathematici

We investigate the growth and Borel exceptional values of meromorphic solutions of the Riccati differential equation w' = a(z) + b(z)w + w², where a(z) and b(z) are meromorphic functions. In particular, we correct a result of E. Hille [Ordinary Differential Equations in the Complex Domain, 1976] and get a precise estimate on the growth order of the transcendental meromorphic solution w(z); and if at least one of a(z) and b(z) is non-constant, then we show that w(z)...

On numerical solution of ordinary differential equations with discontinuities

Tadeusz Jankowski (1988)

Aplikace matematiky

The author defines the numerical solution of a first order ordinary differential equation on a bounded interval in the way covering the general form of the so called one-step methods, proves convergence of the method (without the assumption of continuity of the righthad side) and gives a sufficient condition for the order of convergence to be O ( h v ) .

On parameter estimation in an in vitro compartmental model for drug-induced enzyme production in pharmacotherapy

Jurjen Duintjer Tebbens, Ctirad Matonoha, Andreas Matthios, Štěpán Papáček (2019)

Applications of Mathematics

A pharmacodynamic model introduced earlier in the literature for in silico prediction of rifampicin-induced CYP3A4 enzyme production is described and some aspects of the involved curve-fitting based parameter estimation are discussed. Validation with our own laboratory data shows that the quality of the fit is particularly sensitive with respect to an unknown parameter representing the concentration of the nuclear receptor PXR (pregnane X receptor). A detailed analysis of the influence of that parameter...
