Effect of nonlinear perturbations on second order linear nonoscillatory differential equations.
We take advantage of the complex structure to compute in a short way and without using any computer algebra system the Lyapunov quantities and for a general smooth planar system.
The paper is concentrated on Professor Miloš Ráb and his contribution to the theory of oscillatory properties of solutions of second and third order linear differential equations, the theory of differential equations with complex coefficients and dynamical systems, and the theory of nonlinear second order differential equations. At the beginning, we take a brief look at the most important moments in his life. Afterwards, we describe his scientific activities on mentioned theories.
In this paper, dual synchronization of a hybrid system containing a chaotic Colpitts circuit and a Chua’s circuit, connected by an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel, is studied via numeric simulations. The extended Kalman filter (EKF) is employed as the response system to achieve the dual synchronization. Two methods are proposed and investigated. The first method treats the combination of a Colpitts circuit and a Chua’s circuit as a higher- dimensional system, while the second method...
We apply Max Müller's Theorem to second order equations u'' = f(t,u,u') to obtain solutions between given functions v,w.
This paper is devoted to the study of a predator-prey model in a patchy environment. The model represents the interactions between phytoplankton and zooplankton in the water column. Two patches are considered with respect to light availability: one patch is associated to the surface layer, the second patch describes the bottom layer. We show that this spatial heterogeneity may destabilize the predator-prey system, even in oligotrophic system where the nutrient is low enough to avoid ”paradox-enrichment”...
