Integral Manifolds and Perturbations of the Nonlinear Part of Systems of Autonomous Differential Equations with Impulses at Fixed Moments

Stamov, G. (1995)

Serdica Mathematical Journal

* This investigation was supported by the Bulgarian Ministry of Science and Education under Grant MM-7.Sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence of local integral manifolds of autonomous systems of differential equations with impulses at fixed moments. In case of perturbations of the nonlinear part an estimate of the difference between the manifolds is obtained.

Kinetical systems

Ladislav Adamec (1997)

Applications of Mathematics

The aim of the paper is to give some preliminary information concerning a class of nonlinear differential equations often used in physical chemistry and biology. Such systems are often very large and it is well known that where studying properties of such systems difficulties rapidly increase with their dimension. One way how to get over the difficulties is to use special forms of such systems.

Kinetical systems—local analysis

Ladislav Adamec (1998)

Applications of Mathematics

The paper gives the answer to the question of the number and qualitative character of stationary points of an autonomous detailed balanced kinetical system.

Limit cycles in the Holling-Tanner model.

Armengol Gasull, Robert E. Koolj, Joan Torregrosa (1997)

Publicacions Matemàtiques

This paper deals with the following question: does the asymptotic stability of the positive equilibrium of the Holling-Tanner model imply it is also globally stable? We will show that the answer to this question is negative. The main tool we use is the computation of Poincaré-Lyapunov constants in case a weak focus occurs. In this way we are able to construct an example with two limit cycles.
