Invariant prolongation of BGG-operators in conformal geometry

Matthias Hammerl (2008)

Archivum Mathematicum

BGG-operators form sequences of invariant differential operators and the first of these is overdetermined. Interesting equations in conformal geometry described by these operators are those for Einstein scales, conformal Killing forms and conformal Killing tensors. We present a deformation procedure of the tractor connection which yields an invariant prolongation of the first operator. The explicit calculation is presented in the case of conformal Killing forms.

L 2 -stability of multi-solitons

Claudio Muñoz (2011/2012)

Séminaire Laurent Schwartz — EDP et applications

The aim of this note is to give a short review of our recent work (see [5]) with Miguel A. Alejo and Luis Vega, concerning the L 2 -stability, and asymptotic stability, of the N -soliton of the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation.

Laurent series expansion for solutions of hypoelliptic equations

M. Langenbruch (2002)

Annales Polonici Mathematici

We prove that any zero solution of a hypoelliptic partial differential operator can be expanded in a generalized Laurent series near a point singularity if and only if the operator is semielliptic. Moreover, the coefficients may be calculated by means of a Cauchy integral type formula. In particular, we obtain explicit expansions for the solutions of the heat equation near a point singularity. To prove the necessity of semiellipticity, we additionally assume that the index of hypoellipticity with...
