The Herz-Schur multiplier norm of sets satisfying the Leinert condition

Éric Ricard, Ana-Maria Stan (2011)

Colloquium Mathematicae

It is well known that in a free group , one has | | χ E | | M c b A ( ) 2 , where E is the set of all the generators. We show that the (completely) bounded multiplier norm of any set satisfying the Leinert condition depends only on its cardinality. Consequently, based on a result of Wysoczański, we obtain a formula for | | χ E | | M c b A ( ) .

The homology of spaces of simple topological measures

Ø. Johansen, A. B. Rustad (2003)

Fundamenta Mathematicae

The simple topological measures X* on a q-space X are shown to be a superextension of X. Properties inherited from superextensions to topological measures are presented. The homology groups of various subsets of X* are calculated. For a q-space X, X* is shown to be a q-space. The homology of X* when X is the annulus is calculated. The homology of X* when X is a more general genus one space is investigated. In particular, X* for the torus is shown to have a retract homeomorphic to an infinite product...

The Hyers-Ulam-Aoki Type Stability of Some Functional Equations on Banach Lattices

Nutefe Kwami Agbeko (2015)

Bulletin of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Mathematics

In Agbeko (2012) the Hyers-Ulam-Aoki stability problem was posed in Banach lattice environments with the addition in the Cauchy functional equation replaced by supremum. In the present note we restate the problem so that it relates not only to supremum but also to infimum and their various combinations. We then propose some sufficient conditions which guarantee its solution.

The Hypercyclicity Criterion for sequences of operators

L. Bernal-González, K.-G. Grosse-Erdmann (2003)

Studia Mathematica

We show that under no hypotheses on the density of the ranges of the mappings involved, an almost-commuting sequence (Tₙ) of operators on an F-space X satisfies the Hypercyclicity Criterion if and only if it has a hereditarily hypercyclic subsequence ( T n k ) , and if and only if the sequence (Tₙ ⊕ Tₙ) is hypercyclic on X × X. This strengthens and extends a recent result due to Bès and Peris. We also find a new characterization of the Hypercyclicity Criterion in terms of a condition introduced by Godefroy...
