Tensor Products and Banach Ideals of p-Compact Operators.
Let G be a locally compact group, let (φ,ψ) be a complementary pair of Young functions, and let and be the corresponding Orlicz spaces. Under some conditions on φ, we will show that for a Banach -submodule X of , the multiplier space is a dual Banach space with predual , where the closure is taken in the dual space of . We also prove that if is a Δ₂-regular N-function, then , the space of convolutors of , is identified with the dual of a Banach algebra of functions on G under pointwise...
We show that every spectrally bounded linear map Φ from a Banach algebra onto a standard operator algebra acting on a complex Banach space is square-zero preserving. This result is used to show that if Φ₂ is spectrally bounded, then Φ is a homomorphism multiplied by a nonzero complex number. As another application to the Hilbert space case, a classification theorem is obtained which states that every spectrally bounded linear bijection Φ from ℬ(H) onto ℬ(K), where H and K are infinite-dimensional...
Some results concerning triangularization of some operators on locally convex spaces are established.
Orthomodular spaces are the counterpart of Hilbert spaces for fields other than or . Both share numerous properties, foremost among them is the validity of the Projection theorem. Nevertheless in the study of bounded linear operators which started in [3], there appeared striking differences with the classical theory. In fact, in this paper we shall construct, on the canonical non-archimedean orthomodular space of [5], two infinite families of self-adjoint bounded linear operators having no...
