Facial structures of separable and PPT states

Seung-Hyeok Kye (2011)

Banach Center Publications

A positive semi-definite block matrix (a state if it is normalized) is said to be separable if it is the sum of simple tensors of positive semi-definite matrices. A state is said to be entangled if it is not separable. It is very difficult to detect the border between separable and entangled states. The PPT (positive partial transpose) criterion tells us that the partial transpose of a separable state is again positive semi-definite, as was observed by M. D. Choi in 1982 from...

Formula for unbiased bases

Maurice R. Kibler (2010)

Kybernetika

The present paper deals with mutually unbiased bases for systems of qudits in d dimensions. Such bases are of considerable interest in quantum information. A formula for deriving a complete set of 1 + p mutually unbiased bases is given for d = p where p is a prime integer. The formula follows from a nonstandard approach to the representation theory of the group S U ( 2 ) . A particular case of the formula is derived from the introduction of a phase operator associated with a generalized oscillator algebra. The case...

Fuzzy quantum logics.

Maria Luisa Dalla Chiara, Roberto Giuntini (1996)

Mathware and Soft Computing

Quantum logic is a particular example of a fuzzy quantum logic. QL is semantically characterized by the class of all quantum MV algebras. The standard quantum MV algebra is based on the set of all effects in a Hilbert space. From the physical point of view, effects represent physical properties that may be noisy and ambiguous.
