On the Jacobson radical of strongly group graded rings

Andrei V. Kelarev (1994)

Commentationes Mathematicae Universitatis Carolinae

For any non-torsion group G with identity e , we construct a strongly G -graded ring R such that the Jacobson radical J ( R e ) is locally nilpotent, but J ( R ) is not locally nilpotent. This answers a question posed by Puczyłowski.

On the K -theory and Hattori-Stallings traces of minimal primitive factors of enveloping algebras of semisimple Lie algebras : the singular case

Patrick Polo (1995)

Annales de l'institut Fourier

Let G be a semisimple complex algebraic group and X its flag variety. Let 𝔤 = Lie ( G ) and let U be its enveloping algebra. Let 𝔥 be a Cartan subalgebra of 𝔤 . For μ 𝔥 * , let J μ be the corresponding minimal primitive ideal, let U μ = U / J μ , and let 𝒯 U μ : K 0 ( U m u ) be the Hattori-Stallings trace. Results of Hodges suggest to study this map as a step towards a classification, up to isomorphism or Morita equivalence, of the -algebras U μ . When μ is regular, Hodges has shown that K 0 ( U μ ) K 0 ( X ) . In this case K 0 ( U μ ) is generated by the classes corresponding to...

On the K-theory of tubular algebras

Dirk Kussin (2000)

Colloquium Mathematicae

Let Λ be a tubular algebra over an arbitrary base field. We study the Grothendieck group K 0 ( Λ ) , endowed with the Euler form, and its automorphism group A u t ( K 0 ( Λ ) ) on a purely K-theoretical level as in [7]. Our results serve as tools for classifying the separating tubular families of tubular algebras as in the example [5] and for determining the automorphism group A u t ( D b Λ ) of the derived category of Λ.

On the lattice of congruences on inverse semirings

Anwesha Bhuniya, Anjan Kumar Bhuniya (2008)

Discussiones Mathematicae - General Algebra and Applications

Let S be a semiring whose additive reduct (S,+) is an inverse semigroup. The relations θ and k, induced by tr and ker (resp.), are congruences on the lattice C(S) of all congruences on S. For ρ ∈ C(S), we have introduced four congruences ρ m i n , ρ m a x , ρ m i n and ρ m a x on S and showed that ρ θ = [ ρ m i n , ρ m a x ] and ρ κ = [ ρ m i n , ρ m a x ] . Different properties of ρθ and ρκ have been considered here. A congruence ρ on S is a Clifford congruence if and only if ρ m a x is a distributive lattice congruence and ρ m a x is a skew-ring congruence on S. If η (σ) is the least distributive...

On the n -torsion subgroup of the Brauer group of a number field

Hershy Kisilevsky, Jack Sonn (2003)

Journal de théorie des nombres de Bordeaux

Given a number field K Galois over the rational field , and a positive integer n prime to the class number of K , there exists an abelian extension L / K (of exponent n ) such that the n -torsion subgroup of the Brauer group of K is equal to the relative Brauer group of L / K .
