Equidimensional actions of algebraic tori

Haruhisa Nakajima (1995)

Annales de l'institut Fourier

Let X be an affine conical factorial variety over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. We consider equidimensional and stable algebraic actions of an algebraic torus on X compatible with the conical structure. We show that such actions are cofree and the nullcones of X associated with them are complete intersections.

Equivalence relations induced by some locally compact groups of homeomorphisms of 2

B. Majcher-Iwanow (2005)

Colloquium Mathematicae

Let T be a locally finite rooted tree and B(T) be the boundary space of T. We study locally compact subgroups of the group TH(B(T)) = ⟨Iso(T),V⟩ generated by the group Iso(T) of all isometries of B(T) and the group V of Richard Thompson. We describe orbit equivalence relations arising from actions of these groups on B(T).

Equivalent conditions for p-nilpotence

Keresztély Corrádi, Erzsébet Horváth (2000)

Discussiones Mathematicae - General Algebra and Applications

In the first part of this paper we prove without using the transfer or characters the equivalence of some conditions, each of which would imply p-nilpotence of a finite group G. The implication of p-nilpotence also can be deduced without the transfer or characters if the group is p-constrained. For p-constrained groups we also prove an equivalent condition so that O q ' ( G ) P should be p-nilpotent. We show an example that this result is not true for some non-p-constrained groups. In the second part of the...

Equivalent Expressions of Direct Sum Decomposition of Groups1

Kazuhisa Nakasho, Hiroyuki Okazaki, Hiroshi Yamazaki, Yasunari Shidama (2015)

Formalized Mathematics

In this article, the equivalent expressions of the direct sum decomposition of groups are mainly discussed. In the first section, we formalize the fact that the internal direct sum decomposition can be defined as normal subgroups and some of their properties. In the second section, we formalize an equivalent form of internal direct sum of commutative groups. In the last section, we formalize that the external direct sum leads an internal direct sum. We referred to [19], [18] [8] and [14] in the...

Equivariant degenerations of spherical modules for groups of type A

Stavros Argyrios Papadakis, Bart Van Steirteghem (2012)

Annales de l’institut Fourier

V. Alexeev and M. Brion introduced, for a given a complex reductive group, a moduli scheme of affine spherical varieties with prescribed weight monoid. We provide new examples of this moduli scheme by proving that it is an affine space when the given group is of type A and the prescribed weight monoid is that of a spherical module.
