Local stability conditions for discrete-time cascade locally recurrent neural networks

Krzysztof Patan (2010)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

The paper deals with a specific kind of discrete-time recurrent neural network designed with dynamic neuron models. Dynamics are reproduced within each single neuron, hence the network considered is a locally recurrent globally feedforward. A crucial problem with neural networks of the dynamic type is stability as well as stabilization in learning problems. The paper formulates local stability conditions for the analysed class of neural networks using Lyapunov's first method. Moreover, a stabilization...

Minimal realization for positive multivariable linear systems with delay

Tadeusz Kaczorek, Mikołaj Busłowicz (2004)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

The realization problem for positive multivariable discrete-time systems with one time delay is formulated and solved. Conditions for the solvability of the realization problem are established. A procedure for the computation of a minimal positive realization of a proper rational matrix is presented and illustrated by an example.

Monomial subdigraphs of reachable and controllable positive discrete-time systems

Rafael Bru, Louis Caccetta, Ventsi Rumchev (2005)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

A generic structure of reachable and controllable positive linear systems is given in terms of some characteristic components (monomial subdigraphs) of the digraph of a non-negative a pair. The properties of monomial subdigraphs are examined and used to derive reachability and controllability criteria in a digraph form for the general case when the system matrix may contain zero columns. The graph-theoretic nature of these criteria makes them computationally more efficient than their known equivalents....

New stability conditions for positive continuous-discrete 2D linear systems

Tadeusz Kaczorek (2011)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

New necessary and sufficient conditions for asymptotic stability of positive continuous-discrete 2D linear systems are established. Necessary conditions for the stability are also given. The stability tests are demonstrated on numerical examples.

Nonlinear system identification using heterogeneous multiple models

Rodolfo Orjuela, Benoît Marx, José Ragot, Didier Maquin (2013)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

Multiple models are recognised by their abilities to accurately describe nonlinear dynamic behaviours of a wide variety of nonlinear systems with a tractable model in control engineering problems. Multiple models are built by the interpolation of a set of submodels according to a particular aggregation mechanism, with the heterogeneous multiple model being of particular interest. This multiple model is characterized by the use of heterogeneous submodels in the sense that their state spaces are not...

Nonparametric instrumental variables for identification of block-oriented systems

Grzegorz Mzyk (2013)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

A combined, parametric-nonparametric identification algorithm for a special case of NARMAX systems is proposed. The parameters of individual blocks are aggregated in one matrix (including mixed products of parameters). The matrix is estimated by an instrumental variables technique with the instruments generated by a nonparametric kernel method. Finally, the result is decomposed to obtain parameters of the system elements. The consistency of the proposed estimate is proved and the rate of convergence...
