We introduce two entire functions $f_{{\mathrm{A}}_{\frac{1}{2}\infty }}$ and $f_{{\mathrm{D}}_{\frac{1}{2}\infty }}$ in two variables. Both of them have only two critical values $0$ and $1$, and the associated maps ${\mathbf{C}}^2\to \mathbf{C}$ define topologically locally trivial fibrations over $\mathbf{C}\setminus \{0,1\}$. All critical points in the singular fibers over $0$ and $1$ are ordinary double points, and the associated vanishing cycles span the middle homology group of the general fiber, whose intersection diagram forms bi-partitely decomposed infinite quivers of type ${\mathrm{A}}_{\frac{1}{2}\infty }$ and ${\mathrm{D}}_{\frac{1}{2}\infty }$, respectively. We characterize clean elements of $ℛ\left(L\right)$ and show that $\alpha \in ℛ\left(L\right)$ is clean if and only if there exists a clopen sublocale $U$ in $L$ such that ${𝔠}_L\left(\mathrm{coz}(\alpha -\mathbf{1})\right)\subseteq U\subseteq {𝔬}_L\left(\mathrm{coz}\left(\alpha \right)\right)$. Also, we prove that $ℛ\left(L\right)$ is clean if and only if $ℛ\left(L\right)$ has a clean prime ideal. Then, according to the results about $ℛ\left(L\right),$ we immediately get results about ${𝒞}_c\left(L\right).$

We connect the theorems of Rentschler [] and Dixmier [] on locally nilpotent derivations and automorphisms of the polynomial ring $A_0$ and of the Weyl algebra $A_1$, both over a field of characteristic zero, by establishing the same type of results for the family of algebras $$A_h=\langle x,y\mid yx-xy=h\left(x\right)\rangle ,$$ where $h$ is an arbitrary polynomial in $x$. Let ${\mathrm{𝙴𝙼𝙱𝙴𝙳}}_{k\to d}$ be the following algorithmic problem: Given a finite simplicial complex $K$ of dimension at most $k$, does there exist a (piecewise linear) embedding of $K$ into ${ℝ}^d$? Known results easily imply polynomiality of ${\mathrm{𝙴𝙼𝙱𝙴𝙳}}_{k\to 2}$ ($k=1,2$; the case $k=1,d=2$ is graph planarity) and of ${\mathrm{𝙴𝙼𝙱𝙴𝙳}}_{k\to 2k}$ for all $k\ge 3$. We show that the celebrated result of Novikov on the algorithmic unsolvability of recognizing the 5-sphere implies that ${\mathrm{𝙴𝙼𝙱𝙴𝙳}}_{d\to d}$ and ${\mathrm{𝙴𝙼𝙱𝙴𝙳}}_{(d-1)\to d}$ are undecidable for each ${}_d\ge 5$. Let $𝒥$ be a coherent ideal sheaf on a complex manifold $X$ with zero set $Z$, and let $G$ be a plurisubharmonic function such that $G=log\left|f\right|+𝒪\left(1\right)$ locally at $Z$, where $f$ is a tuple of holomorphic functions that defines $𝒥$. Let $G$ be a finite group and $p$ a prime number. We prove that if $G$ is a finite group of order $\left|\mathrm{PSL}\right(2,p^2\left)\right|$ such that $G$ has an irreducible character of degree $p^2$ and we know that $G$ has no irreducible character $\theta$ such that $2p\mid \theta \left(1\right)$, then $G$ is isomorphic to $\mathrm{PSL}(2,p^2)$. As a consequence of our result we prove that $\mathrm{PSL}(2,p^2)$ is uniquely determined by the structure of its complex group algebra.

Let $A$ be a CM-finite Artin algebra with a Gorenstein-Auslander generator $E$, $M$ be a Gorenstein projective $A$-module and $B={\mathrm{End}}_{A}M$. We give an upper bound for the finitistic dimension of $B$ in terms of homological data of $M$. Furthermore, if $A$ is $n$-Gorenstein for $2\le n<\infty$, then we show the global dimension of $B$ is less than or equal to $n$ plus the $B$-projective dimension of ${\mathrm{Hom}}_A(M,E).$ As an application, the global dimension of ${\mathrm{End}}_{A}E$ is less than or equal to $n$.

In this note we shall prove that for a continuous function $\varphi :\Delta \to {ℝ}^n$, where $\Delta \subset ℝ$,  the paratingent of $\varphi$ at $a\in \Delta$ is a non-empty and compact set in ${ℝ}^n$ if and only if $\varphi$ satisfies Lipschitz condition in a neighbourhood of $a$. Moreover, in this case the paratingent is a connected set.

Let $k$ be an algebraically closed field of characteristic $p\&gt;0$. We study obstructions to lifting to characteristic $0$ the faithful continuous action $\phi$ of a finite group $G$ on $k\left[\right[t\left]\right]$. To each such $\phi$ a theorem of Katz and Gabber associates an action of $G$ on a smooth projective curve $Y$ over $k$. In the paper (Ferrara Dentice et al., 2004) a complete exposition of the state of the art for lax embeddings of polar spaces of finite rank $\ge 3$ is presented. As a consequence, we have that if a Grassmann space $G$ of dimension 3 and index 1 has a lax embedding in a projective space over a skew–field $K$, then $G$ is the Klein quadric defined over a subfield of $K$. In this paper, I examine Grassmann spaces of arbitrary dimension $d\ge 3$ and index $h\ge 1$ having a lax embedding in a projective space.
