As observed by Yamazaki, the third component $b_3$ of the magnetic field can be estimated by the corresponding component $u_3$ of the velocity field in $L^{\lambda }$ $(2\le \lambda \le 6)$ norm. This leads him to establish regularity criterion involving $u_3,j_3$ or $u_3,{\omega }_3$. Noticing that $\lambda$ can be greater than 6 in this paper, we can improve previous results.

In a Tychonoff space $X$, the point $p\in X$ is called a $C^{*}$-point if every real-valued continuous function on $C\setminus \left\{p\right\}$ can be extended continuously to $p$. Every point in an extremally disconnected space is a $C^{*}$-point. A classic example is the space ${𝐖}^{*}={\omega }_1+1$ consisting of the countable ordinals together with ${\omega }_1$. We prove that for a normed linear space $X$, if $f_1:X\to ℝ$ is continuous and semiconvex with modulus $\omega$, $f_2:X\to ℝ$ is continuous and semiconcave with modulus $\omega$ and $f_1\le f_2$, then there exists $f\in C^{1,\omega }\left(X\right)$ such that $f_1\le f\le f_2$. Using this result we prove a generalization of Ilmanen lemma (which deals with the case $\omega \left(t\right)=t$) to the case of an arbitrary nontrivial modulus $\omega$. This generalization (where a $C_{loc}^{1,\omega }$ function is inserted) gives a positive answer to a problem formulated by A. Fathi and M. Zavidovique in 2010.

We investigate the question whether a system ${\left(E_i\right)}_{i\in I}$ of homogeneous linear equations over $\mathbb{Z}$ is non-trivially solvable in $\mathbb{Z}$ provided that each subsystem ${\left(E_j\right)}_{j\in J}$ with $\left|J\right|\le c$ is non-trivially solvable in $\mathbb{Z}$ where $c$ is a fixed cardinal number such that $c<\left|I\right|$. We show that any ${\Sigma }_s$-product of at most $𝔠$-many $L\Sigma (\le \omega )$-spaces has the $L\Sigma (\le \omega )$-property. This result generalizes some known results about $L\Sigma (\le \omega )$-spaces. On the other hand, we prove that every ${\Sigma }_s$-product of monotonically monolithic spaces is monotonically monolithic, and in a similar form, we show that every ${\Sigma }_s$-product of Collins-Roscoe spaces has the Collins-Roscoe property. We consider solutions of quasilinear equations $u_t=\Delta u^m+u^p$ in ${ℝ}^N$ with the initial data $u_0$ satisfying $0<u_0<M$ and ${lim}_{\left|x\right|\to \infty }{u}_0\left(x\right)=M$ for some constant $M>0$. It is known that if $0<m<p$ with $p>1$, the blow-up set is empty. We find solutions $u$ that blow up throughout ${ℝ}^N$ when $m>p>1$.

For each positive integer $r$ the birational $r$-gonality $s_r\left(C\right)$ of $C$ is the minimal integer $t$ such that there is $L\in {\text{Pic}}^t\left(C\right)$ with $h^0(C,L)=r+1$. Fix an integer $r\ge 3$. In this paper we prove the existence of an integer $g_r$ such that for every integer $g\ge g_r$ there is a smooth curve $C$ of genus $g$ with $s_{r+1}\left(C\right)/(r+1)>s_r\left(C\right)/r$, i.e. in the sequence of all birational gonalities of $C$ at least one of the slope inequalities fails.
