Hochschild Cohomology of skew group rings and invariants

E. Marcos, R. Martínez-Villa, Ma. Martins (2004)

Open Mathematics

Let A be a k-algebra and G be a group acting on A. We show that G also acts on the Hochschild cohomology algebra HH ⊙ (A) and that there is a monomorphism of rings HH ⊙ (A) G→HH ⊙ (A[G]). That allows us to show the existence of a monomorphism from HH ⊙ (Ã) G into HH ⊙ (A), where à is a Galois covering with group G.

Hochschild homology and cohomology of generalized Weyl algebras

Marco A. Farinati, Andrea L. Solotar, Mariano Suárez-Álvarez (2003)

Annales de l’institut Fourier

We compute Hochschild homology and cohomology of a class of generalized Weyl algebras, introduced by V. V. Bavula in St. Petersbourg Math. Journal, 4 (1) (1999), 71-90. Examples of such algebras are the n-th Weyl algebras, 𝒰 ( 𝔰 𝔩 2 ) , primitive quotients of 𝒰 ( 𝔰 𝔩 2 ) , and subalgebras of invariants of these algebras under finite cyclic groups of automorphisms. We answer a question of Bavula–Jordan (Trans. A.M.S., 353 (2) (2001), 769-794) concerning the generators of the group of automorphisms of a generalized Weyl...

Homogeneous approximations and local observer design

Tomas Ménard, Emmanuel Moulay, Wilfrid Perruquetti (2013)

ESAIM: Control, Optimisation and Calculus of Variations

This paper is concerned with the construction of local observers for nonlinear systems without inputs, satisfying an observability rank condition. The aim of this study is, first, to define an homogeneous approximation that keeps the observability property unchanged at the origin. This approximation is further used in the synthesis of a local observer which is proven to be locally convergent for Lyapunov-stable systems. We compare the performance of the homogeneous approximation observer with the...

Homogeneous polynomials with isomorphic Milnor algebras

Imran Ahmed (2010)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

We recall first Mather's Lemma providing effective necessary and sufficient conditions for a connected submanifold to be contained in an orbit. We show that two homogeneous polynomials having isomorphic Milnor algebras are right-equivalent.

Hopfian and co-Hopfian objects.

Kalathoor Varadarajan (1992)

Publicacions Matemàtiques

The aim of the present paper is to study Hopfian and Co-Hopfian objects in categories like the category of rings, the module categories A-mod and mod-A for any ring A. Using Stone's representation theorem any Boolean ring can be regarded as the ring A of clopen subsets of compact Hausdorff totally disconnected space X. It turns out that the Boolean ring A will be Hopfian (resp. co-Hopfian) if and only if the space X is co-Hopfian (resp. Hopfian) in the category Top. For any compact Hausdorff space...

How to categorify one-half of quantum 𝔤𝔩(1|2)

Mikhail Khovanov (2014)

Banach Center Publications

We describe a collection of differential graded rings that categorify weight spaces of the positive half of the quantized universal enveloping algebra of the Lie superalgebra 𝔤𝔩(1|2).

Idempotents and the multiplicative group of some totally bounded rings

Mohamed A. Salim, Adela Tripe (2011)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

In this paper, we extend some results of D. Dolzan on finite rings to profinite rings, a complete classification of profinite commutative rings with a monothetic group of units is given. We also prove the metrizability of commutative profinite rings with monothetic group of units and without nonzero Boolean ideals. Using a property of Mersenne numbers, we construct a family of power 2 0 commutative non-isomorphic profinite semiprimitive rings with monothetic group of units.

Immersions of module varieties

Grzegorz Zwara (1999)

Colloquium Mathematicae

We show that a homomorphism of algebras is a categorical epimorphism if and only if all induced morphisms of the associated module varieties are immersions. This enables us to classify all minimal singularities in the subvarieties of modules from homogeneous standard tubes.

Induced modules of strongly group-graded algebras

Th. Theohari-Apostolidi, H. Vavatsoulas (2007)

Colloquium Mathematicae

Various results on the induced representations of group rings are extended to modules over strongly group-graded rings. In particular, a proof of the graded version of Mackey's theorem is given.

Injective and projective properties of R [ x ] -modules

Sangwon Park, Eunha Cho (2004)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

We study whether the projective and injective properties of left R -modules can be implied to the special kind of left R [ x ] -modules, especially to the case of inverse polynomial modules and Laurent polynomial modules.

Injective models of G -disconnected simplicial sets

Marek Golasiński (1997)

Annales de l'institut Fourier

We generalize the results by G.V. Triantafillou and B. Fine on G -disconnected simplicial sets. An existence of an injective minimal model for a complete 𝕀 -algebra is presented, for any E I -category 𝕀 . We then make use of the E I -category 𝒪 ( G , X ) associated with a G -simplicial set X to apply these results to the category of G -simplicial sets. Finally, we describe the rational homotopy type of a nilpotent G -simplicial set by means of its injective minimal model.
