Let be a metric space with a doubling measure, be a boundedly compact metric space and be a Lebesgue precise mapping whose upper gradient belongs to the Lorentz space , . Let be a set of measure zero. Then for -a.e. , where is the -dimensional Hausdorff measure and is the -codimensional Hausdorff measure. This property is closely related to the coarea formula and implies a version of the Eilenberg inequality. The result relies on estimates of Hausdorff content of level sets...
We compare the Hausdorff measures and dimensions with respect to the Euclidean and Heisenberg metrics on the first Heisenberg group. The result is a dimension jump described by two inequalities. The sharpness of our estimates is shown by examples. Moreover a comparison between Euclidean and H-rectifiability is given.
We show that the set of conical points of a rational function of the Riemann sphere supports at most one conformal measure. We then study the problem of existence of such measures and their ergodic properties by constructing Markov partitions on increasing subsets of sets of conical points and by applying ideas of the thermodynamic formalism.
We estimate from above and below the Hausdorff dimension of SRB measure for contracting-on-average baker maps.
In the paper (n,2)-sets have full Hausdorff dimension, appeared in Rev. Mat. Iberoamericana 20 (2004), 381-393, the author claimed that an (n,2)-set must have full Hausdorff dimension. However, as pointed out by Terence Tao and John Bueti, the proof contains an error.
We construct a compact set C of Hausdorff dimension zero such that cof(𝒩) many translates of C cover the real line. Hence it is consistent with ZFC that less than continuum many translates of a zero-dimensional compact set can cover the real line. This answers a question of Dan Mauldin.
In some recent work, fractal curvatures and fractal curvature measures , , have been determined for all self-similar sets in , for which the parallel neighborhoods satisfy a certain regularity condition and a certain rather technical curvature bound. The regularity condition is conjectured to be always satisfied, while the curvature bound has recently been shown to fail in some concrete examples. As a step towards a better understanding of its meaning, we discuss several equivalent formulations...
