Second order elliptic systems with boundary conditions of Dirichlet, Neumann’s or Newton’s type are solved by means of linear finite elements on regular uniform triangulations. Error estimates of the optimal order O ( h 2 ) are proved for the averaged gradient on any fixed interior subdomain, provided the problem under consideration is regular in a certain sense.

On compact Kähler surfaces

Without relying on the classification of compact complex surfaces, it is proved that every such surface with even first Betti number admits a Kähler metric and that a real form of the classical Nakai-Moishezon criterion holds on the surface.

Given a non-singular holomorphic foliation on a compact manifold M we analyze the relationship between the versal spaces K and K tr of deformations of as a holomorphic foliation and as a transversely holomorphic foliation respectively. On holomorphic maps into compact non-Kähler manifolds

We study the extension problem of holomorphic maps σ : H X of a Hartogs domain H with values in a complex manifold X . For compact Kähler manifolds as well as various non-Kähler manifolds, the maximal domain Ω σ of extension for σ over Δ is contained in a subdomain of Δ . For such manifolds, we define, in this paper, an invariant Hex n ( X ) using the Hausdorff dimensions of the singular sets of σ ’s and study its properties to deduce informations on the complex structure of X .
