We prove that for Ω being an immediate basin of attraction to an attracting fixed point for a rational mapping of the Riemann sphere, and for an ergodic invariant measure μ on the boundary FrΩ, with positive Lyapunov exponent, there is an invariant subset of FrΩ which is an expanding repeller of Hausdorff dimension arbitrarily close to the Hausdorff dimension of μ. In this paper we show that if is an analytic vector field on having an isolated singular point at 0, then there exists a trajectory of which converges to 0 in the past or in the future. The proof is based on certain results concerning desingularizaton of vector fields in dimension three and on index-type arguments à la Poincaré-Hopf.

Nous mettons en perspective différentes méthodes de changement d’échelles et illustrons leur pertinence en mettant sur pieds des preuves simples et élémentaires de plusieurs théorèmes biens connus en analyse ou géométrie complexe. Les situations abordées sont variées et la plupart des théorèmes démontrés sont des classiques initialement obtenus entre la fin du xixe et la seconde moitié du xxe siècle.

We consider the topological category of various subsets of the set of expanding maps from a manifold to itself, and show in particular that a generic expanding map of the circle has no absolutely continuous invariant probability measure. This is in contrast with the situation for or expanding maps, for which it is known that there is always a unique absolutely continuous invariant probability measure.

e prove that the hyperbolic Hausdorff dimension of Fr Ω, the boundary of the simply connected immediate basin of attraction Ω to an attracting periodic point of a rational mapping of the Riemann sphere, which is not a finite Blaschke product in some holomorphic coordinates, or a 2:1 factor of a Blaschke product, is larger than 1.
