Product spaces generated by bilinear maps and duality

Enrique A. Sánchez Pérez (2015)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

In this paper we analyse a definition of a product of Banach spaces that is naturally associated by duality with a space of operators that can be considered as a generalization of the notion of space of multiplication operators. This dual relation allows to understand several constructions coming from different fields of functional analysis that can be seen as instances of the abstract one when a particular product is considered. Some relevant examples and applications are shown, regarding pointwise...

Products of n open subsets in the space of continuous functions on [0,1]

Ehrhard Behrends (2011)

Studia Mathematica

Let O₁,...,Oₙ be open sets in C[0,1], the space of real-valued continuous functions on [0,1]. The product O₁ ⋯ Oₙ will in general not be open, and in order to understand when this can happen we study the following problem: given f₁,..., fₙ ∈ C[0,1], when is it true that f₁ ⋯ fₙ lies in the interior of B ε ( f ) B ε ( f ) for all ε > 0 ? ( B ε denotes the closed ball with radius ε and centre f.) The main result of this paper is a characterization in terms of the walk t ↦ γ(t): = (f₁(t),..., fₙ(t)) in ℝⁿ. It has to...

Projective representations of spaces of quasianalytic functionals

José Bonet, Reinhold Meise, Sergeĭ N. Melikhov (2004)

Studia Mathematica

The weighted inductive limit of Fréchet spaces of entire functions in N variables which is obtained as the Fourier-Laplace transform of the space of analytic functionals on an open convex subset of N can be described algebraically as the intersection of a family of weighted Banach spaces of entire functions. The corresponding result for the spaces of quasianalytic functionals is also derived.

Projectively invariant Hilbert-Schmidt kernels and convolution type operators

Jaeseong Heo (2012)

Studia Mathematica

We consider positive definite kernels which are invariant under a multiplier and an action of a semigroup with involution, and construct the associated projective isometric representation on a Hilbert C*-module. We introduce the notion of C*-valued Hilbert-Schmidt kernels associated with two sequences and construct the corresponding reproducing Hilbert C*-module. We also discuss projective invariance of Hilbert-Schmidt kernels. We prove that the range of a convolution type operator associated with...
