On the volume of a unit vector field on the three-sphere.
For closed immersed submanifolds of Euclidean spaces, we prove that , where is the mean curvature field, the volume of the given submanifold and is the radius of the smallest sphere enclosing the submanifold. Moreover, we prove that the equality holds only for minimal submanifolds of this sphere.
The notion of a totally umbilical submanifold of a Finsler manifold is introduced. Some Gauss equations are given and some results on totally umbilical submanifolds of Riemannian manifolds are generalized. Totally umbilical submanifolds of Randers spaces are studied; a rigidity theorem and an example are given.
In this paper, we give the necessary and sufficient conditions for non-null curves with non-null normals in 4-dimensional Semi-Euclidian space with indeks 2 to be osculating curves. Also we give some examples of non-null osculating curves in [...] E24 .
