On the differential geometry of some classes of infinite dimensional manifolds

Maysam Maysami Sadr, Danial Bouzarjomehri Amnieh (2024)

Archivum Mathematicum

Albeverio, Kondratiev, and Röckner have introduced a type of differential geometry, which we call lifted geometry, for the configuration space Γ X of any manifold X . The name comes from the fact that various elements of the geometry of Γ X are constructed via lifting of the corresponding elements of the geometry of X . In this note, we construct a general algebraic framework for lifted geometry which can be applied to various “infinite dimensional spaces” associated to X . In order to define a lifted...

On the global stable manifold

Alberto Abbondandolo, Pietro Majer (2006)

Studia Mathematica

We give an alternative proof of the stable manifold theorem as an application of the (right and left) inverse mapping theorem on a space of sequences. We investigate the diffeomorphism class of the global stable manifold, a problem which in the general Banach setting gives rise to subtle questions about the possibility of extending germs of diffeomorphisms.

Smooth bundles of generalized half-densities

Daniel Canarutto (2000)

Archivum Mathematicum

Smooth bundles, whose fibres are distribution spaces, are introduced according to the notion of smoothness due to Frölicher. Some fundamental notions of differential geometry, such as tangent and jet spaces, Frölicher-Nijenhuis bracket, connections and curvature, are suitably generalized. It is also shown that a classical connection on a finite-dimensional bundle naturally determines a connection on an associated distributional bundle.

The Lie group of real analytic diffeomorphisms is not real analytic

Rafael Dahmen, Alexander Schmeding (2015)

Studia Mathematica

We construct an infinite-dimensional real analytic manifold structure on the space of real analytic mappings from a compact manifold to a locally convex manifold. Here a map is defined to be real analytic if it extends to a holomorphic map on some neighbourhood of the complexification of its domain. As is well known, the construction turns the group of real analytic diffeomorphisms into a smooth locally convex Lie group. We prove that this group is regular in the sense of Milnor. ...
